Turn your daily grind into a quest — Looking for early testers for my new Android gamified productivity app, Dragon Ember! 🔥

Hey everyone,

Are traditional to-do lists boring you to death? Me too. That's why I've been deep in the code building Dragon Ember—a brand new Android app designed to turn your actual productivity into a game.

I’m flying solo as the developer and designer, and the core build is finally ready to break out of the virtual testing sandbox. But before I push it out to the wider Google Play ecosystem, I need some real-world testers to put it through its paces, hunt down any lingering bugs, and tell me if it actually helps keep the daily momentum going.

What I'm looking for:

  • Android users willing to install it, break it, and share honest feedback.
  • People who love productivity tools that don't feel like a boring corporate spreadsheet.

If you want to jump in early, test it out, and help shape how this app evolves, drop a comment below or shoot me a message. Let's make getting things done feel like an actual RPG! 🚀

[DEV] I’m building a gamified productivity app called Dragon Ember. Just added avatars and reward animations, and I need testers to help me break it!

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo developer working on Dragon Ember, a gamified productivity app for Android (available on Google Play).

My goal with this app is to bridge the gap between getting actual work done and the dopamine hit of playing an RPG. I wanted a tool where finishing real-life tasks actually lets you level up and earn gear, without the app feeling like a bloated mess.

I just pushed a major update and I’m looking for some blunt, honest feedback from people who use productivity tools daily.

Here is what I just added/fixed that I need you to test:

  • Avatar Equipping: You can now equip your avatar with gear earned from completing tasks. I need to know if the UI feels intuitive.
  • The Timer & Rewards: I added a "fireworks" celebration when your focus timer ends. Does the transition feel rewarding?
  • "Forge New Quest" System: The core loop for creating tasks.
  • Data Persistence: I just completely rewrote the local save logic for streaks and chests. Please let me know if your streak resets randomly!

I’m looking for brutal honesty: Does the gamification actually motivate you, or does it get in the way? Is the dark theme readable? Did you encounter any lag or black-screen bugs?

Title: [Feedback] I built a gamified productivity app called Dragon Ember—looking for some brutally

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a project called Dragon Ember, which is a gamified productivity app designed to make getting tasks done feel less like a chore and more like an adventure.

I know the productivity app space is crowded, but I wanted to build something that actually uses game mechanics to keep me focused without the usual bloat. I’m a solo dev, and I’m currently looking for people to test the core loop and tell me where it falls short.

I’m looking for your "brutal" thoughts on:

  • The "Game" vs. "Work" Balance: Is it actually motivating, or does the gamification get in the way of getting the real work done?
  • The Onboarding: Is it immediately obvious how to start a task and earn progress, or is there too much friction?
  • Performance: I’ve been obsessed with keeping the app lightweight. Does it feel snappy, or does it feel heavy on your device?
  • The UI: Does the design feel like a tool you’d use daily, or is it too busy?
  • If you're interested comment below
