Just finished a 1,900-mile round trip from Atlanta to NYC in my 2003 Ram 1500 with the 4.7L V8. The truck drove smoothly the whole way with no issues whatsoever!
It’s now at 271,000 miles, still running the original engine and transmission. Maintenance is up to date, with these items recently done:
Water pump and fan clutch replaced
Brake fluid flushed and changed
Differential fluid changed
Engine oil and filter changed
Oil pan gasket replaced
Spark plugs replaced
The only thing left on my maintenance list is replacing the front and rear shocks.
Pretty happy to see this old truck handle the trip so well. Anyone else putting serious miles on their 4.7L Ram?
