I'm international living in the US and working for Deloitte. When I joined, I did not require any sponsorship (I have been on OPT and the plan was to pursue a green card through my spouse). However, we recently separated and that's no longer an option.

Deloitte was fully aware of my initial situation (though I have not yet told them about my separation) and my contract states they are not obligated to provide immigration support. I would like to inquire with the firm about making an exception and entering the H1B lottery next winter and would appreciate any advice on how to do so. I understand my situation and the options at-hand, including leaving the firm, but would like to inquire about this as an initial step. Thank you.
