In my other post I stated that I didn't want to spend more money on the game aside from the $20usd from the E-shop. (Switch player)

I grinded for 3 weeks and was able to obtain a permanent mount from the crown shop for 50k gold (broom) and now have met my goal for a house from the crown shop and as recommended by other players I'm doing the red barn farm house. Just got to lvl 12 so I'm starting on gardening.

I mainly used castle tours to do fishing, didn't buy new gear used the side quest for the better gear from olde town. Almost done with the wizard city quests, before moving onto krokotopia.

Only complaint I have so far is I won't be able to do the crab alley part of the story. Thought the $20 paid for the first arc of the story, guess not. Make sense though it was $20

I passed my OSHA 10 and obtained my NCCER cert and have some experience in contruction for general ground work. I'm starting as an apprentice for my local carpentry union in a week. I have my tools and found this.

The blue square is metal and the Stanley is a plastic type material. What would you guys recommend having?

Hey wizards I've been a long time player on PC since 2009 always played as a Life wizard as I liked to support, and was really excited for the announcement on console. I saw that the port was free for xbox and Playstation but it worked like it does on PC as far as areas go. I have a nintendo switch and bought the game beginning of 2026 and finally had time to start playing it. $20USD and thought that was a great trade off for the first arc.

I created an Ice wizard since I wanted to try a new school and I made a deal with myself, I would buy the game but no extras using my money. No expansions or cosmetics, anything I did want I would have to grind and spend gold for instead of my real money.

I made 2 goals; I want a permanent mount and a house from the crown shop. I was hopping for the lion, like on PC it was I think 75k gold, but was disappointed when I didnt see it so I opted for the only mount that was crowns/gold which was the broom.

I have accomplished obtaining the broom, took me nearly a week an a half, and now I'm close to the goal of buying a house from the crown shop.

The way I did this was by fishing. I didn't buy the other school spells, as my goal was to save the gold not spend it until I met my goal. So far it has been successful.

I started out by doing this in the commons, olde town, and by the ice school in ravenwood, then remembered you could visit other players houses. So I have been grinding at a players ice house to increase my chances of catching fish to sell since I'm only using the fishing spell I got for my school.

The reason for my post is this, I'm so close to getting the cheapest house in the crown shop which is the wizards watch tower. 75k gold, I'm currently at 70k. However I am wanting a house that offers fishing in it and after looking through the castle tours I've noticed that only the school houses offer fishing.

What would you recommend, buying the wizards watch tower, or keep grinding another 40k gold and buy one of the school houses, and if so which one would you recommend?

TL;DR

Bought the game for switch and didn't want to spend more real money and grinded for a mount from the crowns shop and now wanting to buy a house, which one should I get?
