The 880km review phantom 2.0

TLDR at the bottom but this is probably the most down to earth review you’ll find of this specific scooter, the Apollo phantom 2.0 52v.

To start off I purchased this scooter with one thing in mind. Commuting to and from work 25km each way two times a day every. Single. Day. Rain shine snow? My plan was and still is to scoot headfirst. So far this scooter has curb stomped two of those, I got it and immediately put it to work, commuting with high traffic in an area in Canada where scooters are NOT legal made for some uncomfortable scenarios that thankfully because it’s such a capable and peppy scooter I’ve been able to whip through with ease.

Many close calls with semis, few police encounters that even despite this scooter not being illegal the only attention I’ve garnered has been intrigue and surprise,

Let’s talk about the things I adore in bullet form then the things I dont

Loves
1: the speed
The speed, throttle control, and controller make for one of the smoothest most responsive scooters I’ve ever ridden and I’ve ridden almost every brand minus the most expensive ones. Top speed, throttle response (and the customization of the all above mentioned) is top tier. Really Apollo NAILED this side. Into the next

2: the build
Had some gnarly creaks and groans but all almost disappeared after a good ole can of lithium grease. I had an accident with this scooter and laid it down at 50kmph and besides my fender exploding off and a beautiful scar down the side of it, not only was the scooter able to take me home immediately after all bloodied and road rashed me on the back of it. It brought me to work the next day with no complaints. Hit a disgusting pothole and messed my stem up. A heat gun, some huge elbow grease later the stem was fixed. They made it incredibly user friendly to make attempts to mend issues, it’s heavy in the best way. Feels very stable I ride without a steering damper and frequently am cruising at the 70kmph it hits, I’ve only had wobbles the first day I had it getting used to it

3: the comfort

Not a whole lot here but the deck is perfect sized where I can change stances if I’m tired after a day at work and still have the same controll, the slightly curved handle bars took a few days to get used too but now? I genuinely don’t think I can go to straight handle bars ever again.

4: this ones odd.. but the sound

Especially in ludo mode the scooter is quite loud. I mean really loud. I sound like a bat out of hell screaming down the road. And honestly? I adore it. I feel cooler people tend to notice more at higher speeds which isn’t commonly but I take the visibility I can get

Ok. Now the dislikes

1: some creaks and groans just don’t go away no matter how much you grease, doesn’t really bother me much as I have music in my helmet on at all times but it’s very noticeable to others,

2: the app….. the app absolutely blows chunks. I’m sorry I’m a huge Apollo supporter I love them as a company and a scooter but the app is awfull. When it works and that’s not frequently it’s great. Somtimes my scooters settings reset, at the time of writing this I’m having a glitch where I can’t tweak my settings for speed modes and it just brings up the Apollo secure plan lol.

3: the lights. I don’t love that whenever I turn the scooter on it auto turns all the lights on, not the end of the world not even close but still a inconvenience, also on the topic of lights I understand the science of it and why it happens but it bums me out how fast the battery drains when you use the body lights. Like it makes sense but it sucks choosing between between visibility or speed on my commutes especially at night

and that’s it!! All in all I adore this scooter. Every day I ride it and am very very very happy with the purchase. Everytime I have the speed to get out of a sketchy situation I’m reminded why I support Apollo. They’ve been nothing but amazing to me customer service and parts wise. Like top notch they respond to my emails somtimes literally two minutes after I send them, when I had my accident they sent me a fender for free out of goodwill. I choose to support this company because this company tries to support us.

TLDR: if you have the money. And need the ultimate combo of speed, fashion, function, buy this scooter. I can’t attest to the stellar version but that’s too fast for me. I ADORE my scooter. I will buy another one when this one’s put to rest. I will continue to ride it every single day and will make a celebration post when I hit 1000km on it. Till then folks! I hope there’s people out there who find this helpful

Amazed to say the least

After having an accident yesterday with a driver not paying attention and some tape to cover the important holes this beauty of a scooter continues to get me to and from work every day! Apollo even offered to send me a free fender replacement! Day In day out I cannot yell at the sky enough about how much I love this scooter and Apollo as a company!! Answered the email within the hour. I can’t think of many scooters who would survive being laid down at 5kmph and be able to take me home let alone to work and back the next day!. So thankful so happy so encouraged with the company I’m supporting

BLOOD WARNING: finally crashed

Well folks, it finally happened the first time I had to put a scooter down in almost 6 years of riding, some idiot not paying attention was going to hit me and I chose bush at 50kmph vs car. Front fender is blown off the scooter I got some road rash but this is your daily reminder to WEAR YOUR HELMETS GUYS. Anyways thank you Apollo for making a scooter that survived that with minor damage. Thank you my favorite pants for taking the brunt of it hallelujah holy shit where’s the Tylenol 🙁

So folks. I’m gonna take one for the team, I’m making payments on a phantom 2.0 should be done in 3 years. Don’t wanna talk about that part the part I do wanna talk about is that I’m going to use this thing every single day for 26km for 3 years straight, have a wonderful relationship with my mechanic so I’m gonna document my journey of putting some serious mileage on my brand new phantom 2.0 before I do though. Anything I should know? Quirks tips from other phantom enjoyers? I coming from a city 2024 so I know the ins and outs of Apollo scooters regen etc. is this thing gonna be ok in the rain? I’m on the west coast of Canada so if it’s not 26+ it’s absolutely pouring. Can’t wait to see what this thing can do!!

TLDR: gonna shoot to put 20k+ on a new phantom 2.0!in 3 years and will document how it holds up throughout this journey
