I bought a Polar Loop after seeing it lose every comparison – how bad is it really?
Hey r/Polarfitness!
I just ordered a Polar Loop after seeing it discounted to €125 including shipping. I was on the fence for a long time and did watch basically every comparison there is on YouTube – all of which the Polar Loop came in last or second to last place.
My reasoning is simple – the "better" alternatives all have some dealbreakers to me. Whoop's subscription is insanely expensive. Fitbit Air's AI-first app and bad Apple Health support don't work for me. And the Amazfit Helio Strap just looks cheap and is not comfortable to wear for me.
The Polar Loop is the best looking and feeling strap of its kind, at least in my opinion. But it's also the one with the most outdated app, and the least accurate data. Since I sync data through Apple Health to other apps, and don't do tons of workouts, I hope I just won't see the Polar app very often. I also don't need precise workout tracking, just general lifestyle tracking, with somewhat useable sleep times, calories burned and heart rate throughout the day.
All things my Apple Watch can't really do, since the battery is dead by 3 pm. Will switch to a Pebble Round 2, but since that one lacks a heart rate sensor, I need a separate device for tracking HR.
So, Loop users, is the Polar Loop still so bad that you wouldn't recommend it to anyone? Or are there actually people who like it after using it for an extended period of time?
