Trump Administration Moves to Spare Space Companies From Environmental Reviews
Absolutely disgusting, yet I'm not surprised at all. Anything to keep his rich pals rich whilst reducing the outcry from us peasants

For New Zealand, I used Woolworths.co.nz
For the UK, I used sainsburys.co.uk
For Australia, I used: woolworths.com.au
Edit:
I’m sorry to everyone getting pissed off that I haven’t “used Lidl” for UK or Aldi for Australia.
Unfortunately Lidl UK and Aldi Australia do not advertise their prices online. Therefore I figured it would be unfair to compare Paknsave as NZ’s cheapest option, and rather went for what has been ranked in June 2026 as each countries second most affordable major supermarket.
Also, I’m not getting paid for this shit. I made this graph purely out of curiosity after having lived in all 3 countries over the past 5 years and hearing people in all 3 complain about how their country has the worst prices.
If you’re upset with what I found, do your own damn graph! Otherwise take the info and be grateful I could be bothered to make this for your interest.
Found this in a spot that’s been frequented by humans since the Roman times until today in Somerset, England. Looks like it was actually cut to be a circle, and not just a broken piece of a bottle. What could it be?
Hi all,
My partner and I are moving out of our room-let where we live in the same property as the landlord and one other tenant.
We’ve had a multitude of problems with this landlord, hence why we are just getting out of there.
He told me yesterday that although we pay rent for one room in the house, we are expected to give the entire dwelling a deep clean including all shared facilities (kitchen, bathroom, hallway walls, living room etc) if we want our bond back. The landlord and other tenant will still be living here and using these shared facilities.
This seems a bit extreme to me, it’s my first time renting in the UK but back in Australia living in house shares I only ever had to deep clean the room I rented and give the cupboards/shelves i used in communal areas a good clean too.
The annoying part is that at this rental, my partner and I have done ALL the chores since moving in. Our landlord and other tenant have done absolutely nothing but make the mess which we always tidied up, so it feels like a slap in the face to be told they want us to deep clean the whole house one last time or we won’t get our bond back.
Is this true? Is this normally expected of tenants on a room-let?
Hi everyone, I’ve moved recently from New Zealand to UK. I’ve spent the last 6 months in a share house but looking at getting my own apartment now, however I know lodgers agreements and rental agreements vary greatly so I need advice.
I’ve found a place that almost feels too good to be true for many reasons, however not totally impossible either.
I found it on SpareRoom, I’ve been messaging landlord and agreed to do a viewing on Friday.
Landlord messages to tell me she lives in a different city so she’d have to take the day off work to come down and give us the tour. I said thx so much for taking the time.
This is a private arrangement btw, and not done through a rental agency.
She texted me today saying she’d need an £800 holding deposit right now as it’s a hassle to come down to the city I live in to show me and she’s been messed about by potential tenants in the past for viewings.
I replied saying I’m hesitant to do so as we’ve not met and I’ve not seen the place (I don’t even know the exact address yet).
She sent me a photo of her British passport which looks very legit to me to prove her identity and reassure me she’s not trying to rip me off.
I’ve stuck to my guns and said sorry £800 is a lot given the situation, however if we meet on Friday I’m inclined to sign the tenancy agreement then and there and pay the £800.
What do you guys think, is this 100% a scam, or is there a chance this lady is legit?
I’m not sure how things work here in England with things like this, so any advice is greatly appreciated.
Edit: I have indeed found out it was a scam, as I also received an email from Sparerooms eventually warning people of this user. I didn’t part with any money, thanks everyone for your advice :)
