A colleague got reimbursed but I didn't...
My colleague and I flew to NYC last Jan for a business trip. Our flight home was cancelled due to a snow storm and Aer Lingus got in touch to say they've rebooked our return flight due to depart a day earlier. Leaving a day earlier would have negated the trip, so we declined flying home a day earlier, and the next possible flight was 2 days later. We had to rebook accommodation, and saved all our food receipts etc. My college got reimbursed for everything, and they denied my claim, even though they were near identical (we stayed in the same hotel, and ate at the same restaurants). I must have gone back and forth to them about 15 times now. At first they said they can't reimburse as they had offered us an alternative flight. Then I switched my argument to why are they treating 2 customers in the same boat differently - and they said they can't discuss it due to GDPR. Is this a lost cause? Any insights? e.g. should I escalate this to the IAA?
