Booked Aer Lingus via Kiss&Fly – Support says it’s a "Charter Flight" and I won't get an airline PNR. Is this legit or a scam?

Hi everyone,
I recently booked a one-way flight from Naples (NAP) to Dublin (DUB) for July 19th through the OTA Kiss&Fly.
I received a confirmation document, but the PNR code provided inside the PDF does not work on the official Aer Lingus website. It says "Confirming" next to the flight details.
I contacted their customer support via WhatsApp, and the agent told me that this specific flight has been scheduled as a charter flight / allotted seat. Because of this, they claim:

  1. I will NOT receive a standard 6-digit Aer Lingus PNR.
  2. I cannot manage the booking or check-in online via the airline's website.
  3. I just need to show up at the airport 3 hours before departure with the agency's itinerary PDF and my passport to do a physical check-in at the desk for free.
Has anyone ever experienced this with Kiss&Fly or Aer Lingus? Is it normal for an OTA to sell charter blocks on a standard commercial route like this, or am I being ghosted/scammed?
Should I wait it out or immediately call my bank for a chargeback?
    Thanks for any advice!

Its now Friday the 3rd of July, no bag despite multiple promises it is "with a courier" "out for delivery" "on its way". Angry wife, holiday ruined. Thanks Aer Lingus!

Deteriorating Contact centre !!!!

I have flown aer lingus for probably 20 years. Mainly due to their superior customer service. I have always found every part of the business has excellent customer service and all staff are very helpful.

I’ve flown twice in the last 6 months with some issues. I’ve had to call the contact centre for two separate issues - My god what has happened to their customer service! It is utterly terrible. Calling from Dublin to appropriate customer support number.

Dublin to Paris 6 months ago. called to book a newborn onto an existing booking 4 weeks prior to flight. Charged 50€, which was taken from my bank. All ok. 3 days prior to my departure I have no infant on my app. Called again to query why - the only solution was for me to pay another 50€ to get the newborn onto the booking while they investigate the previous call. They are still investigating now and I have chased them multiple times.

Staff are so nonchalant and the communication is a real challenge. Disappointing to see the contact centre go this way!

Aer Lingus lounge pass

So I have an Aer Lingus credit card that entitles me to two Aer Lingus lounge passes at Dublin airport however I have three in my family. Anyone know if I’m entitled to one more lounge pass or if anyone has successfully gotten another one for free? Alternatively, where can I buy one?

Denied Avios upgrade. This system is archaic.

First of all, the process for Avios upgrades is absolutely ridiculous. WHY isn't this option built into the app UI? Why am I sending emails and praying for a response? So utterly ridiculous. I have the points in my account, show me which flights I can utilize them for in the app. FFS it's 2026 and this is not a budget airline!!!!

I called, was told there was rewards availability with no one on the waitlist. Booked my flight & emailed for an upgrade. Got a quick response for "we submitted you". Waited two whole weeks. My return flight got approved, but my outbound got denied. Ok. I change my flight and try again. Denied.

There's no option to even upgrade with cash on the app!!!! WHY!?

Also has anyone ever been denied and tried again and gotten the approval? I save my points for this all year for this.

Aer lingus lost my checked bag and crew provided strange service that was almost charming but ultimately disastrous

I don’t usually complain about service but that was comically bad service from their crew. One of the flight attendants was gossiping really loud about another passenger she didn’t like and also a bad date she went on w/ a guy with veneers and like, inching slowly, slowly up the aisle so she could pause at every seat and tell another part of the story to the other flight attendant, it took hours for them to serve and collect lunch. Normally I really appreciate this kind of bad service except that she wasn’t very nice to me personally and no one could get down the aisle to use the bathroom. She asked me to pass her a tray over another passenger’s head and the tray had tomato juice on it that spilled all over the passenger and all over my seat. And she was like sorry we only have this one napkin lmao. I used a blanket and water to try to clean the juice but then my seat was wet and I complained and she said, completely exasperated, “ok unzip the seat cushion and come to the back of the plane and I’ll give you a new seat cushion” so I had to disassemble and reassemble my own seat. Then o landed and my suitcase never arrived!

I was just told at check-in that there’s no seat available for my flight to Chicago from Dublin

I just tried to check into my flight from Dublin to Chicago. I was told there was no space available and to wait an hour for the supervisor to arrive.

I went to the help desk and was told the same thing.

I double checked my emails and there’s no notification or any corrospondence that suggests I am not supposed to be on this flight.

I’m extremely frustrated. I have never been just told “no space. wait around”. They haven’t given a reason or talked about alternative flights.

Still waiting for a supervisor.

Bag prices

Hi all, I’m confused about bag prices.
I am looking to book Dublin ✈️ LAX.
The saver fare is €761 and the smart fare is €910.
I need to get a big bag but I don’t know if the smart fare is worth it or will adding a bag on to saver fare be cheaper? The bag prices on their website says €50 for a 25kg bag one way. But then when I go to pay for saver and to add a bag on it says €100 each way. Why the massive difference? First time flying to America so advice would be appreciated :))

How do I add API to my booking?

Going to the states on the 9th of July and got an email this morning that I need to add API (Advanced Passenger Information) to my booking.

Ive gone to the US yearly since 2022, and haven’t had to do this, though I’m guessing it’s because of what’s happening over there.

It says I can find it when I go to ‘manage booking’ but I can’t seem to find where I do it. Could anyone help me out please?

I think Aer Lingus wrongfully denied my refund, is there any way to appeal?

I booked a multi-city trip with two flights, (1) JFK to DUB, and (2) SNN to LHR, departing 10 days later. I received a single booking reference for the trip. I knew there was a chance I would have to change or cancel the SNN to LHR flight, so I specifically chose a refundable flex fare. I ended up taking the first flight to Dublin but, sure enough, had to cancel the second flight to London. I called Aer Lingus well in advance of that flight and cancelled with the help of a customer service rep, who assured me that the fare would be fully refunded upon submitting a refund request online.

I went ahead and submitted a request, but because I only received a single booking reference, the system appeared to assume that I was requesting a refund for both flights on my multi-city itinerary -- there was no way to separate out just the SNN to LHR flight. Shortly thereafter I was notified that my refund request was denied and the case was closed. No option to appeal the denial or even talk to a human being was provided -- it simply linked me back to the useless general contact options. I've tried emailing a complaint and calling customer service, but basically everything when it comes to refunds seems to be part of an automated system that no customer rep can override. Before I go through the hassle of filing a claim with the IAA, has anyone ever had success appealing a refund denial? If so, how? Whatever the outcome, this is the absolute last time I ever fly with Aer Lingus. It's criminal how difficult they make it to get help from an actual human being.

Carry-on luggage on transatlantic flight

Hello everyone, I have a flight scheduled from New York City to Dublin from Dublin to Madrid this Wednesday and I just decided to measure my carry-on and I found that is big according to the dimensions they have listed on their website. Are they extremely strict about carry-on luggage for transatlantic flight. It’s pretty much the same everywhere? I purchased a checked bag by the way, but I need to have my carry-
luggage tho.

Update: i was able to check mu carry on free since the flight is almost full. I wanted to avoid being stopped for my connecting flight

Aer Lingus website seems to be down for maintenance?

Would anyone have any guesses as to when the maintenance would be finished? Can't use the app or the website to access my booking and have a flight tomorrow 🥲

Business class? Worth the upgrade?

(I asked this on another forum)
I’m flying from Dublin to Boston next week and I’m considering booking Business Class.
My flights are as shown.
I’ve never flown in any premium cabin before, so I don’t have anything to compare it to.

The Business Class fare I’m looking at is about $4,800 round trip for one person. My budget is around $5,000, but I’m wondering whether the upgrade is actually worth the extra cost on a relatively short transatlantic flight.

For those who’ve flown this route (or similar), would you pay for Business Class, or stick with Premium Economy/Economy and save the money?

What makes the biggest difference in your experience—lie-flat seats, lounge access, food, priority boarding, or something else?

So They Just Gave Up On Their Social Media?

You used to be able to contact them and you would get through to a human instantly.

Then they switched with people with bad english, then a bot, now their social media channels don't work at all.

Missed Connection

To the handsome guy from Wyoming with stickers on his water bottle and arms, if you'd also like to continue our little conversation this afternoon, DM me. -The woman who woke up as the plane from Berlin to Dublin was landing this morning and complimented your headphones.

Preferred Seat Question

Hi! I have a flight from Dublin to Los angeles coming up and I'm wondering if there is a difference to the "preferred seat" compared to all the other economy seats? Airbus A330-300. The person I was talking to on the phone said they couldn't necessarily say it has more "legroom" but they said it's more "comfortable." When I asked them what they meant by that they came up with some vague answer about more space between seats. But then when I asked about legroom they said no. Does anyone have more insight into this? Would definitely be willing to pay for the preferred if it actually made some sort of difference in seat comfort / legroom but maybe it's all the same? thanks!
