New Carrier Fee

I don't fly much so I'm not too educated on how pricing and all that work too well but looking to travel back to Ireland around the same time I did last year in May. I booked in Nov 2025 and these were the prices. The second image is the price and fees today booking for the same dates/flights/times just a year later both round trips. Just wondering if this is just because of when I'm booking or if this is just what to expect to pay now. I know obviously price will go up, gas is expensive all that but thats a pretty significant jump hence why I ask. The taxes and fees for the new return flight are almost as expensive as the entire fees and taxes for the whole round trip the first time. Thanks for any thoughts. Sorry if this is a stupid question as well.

2005 XC70 Battery Drain purchase?

Hi everyone I am currently looking for a cheaper car to get around for a little, especially on price it could last 6 months and id be happy. Just came across a 2005 xc70 with 202k miles that just recently passed inspection which is what I was looking for. Owner said there is a drain on battery when sitting for a bit but hasnt looked into it. I saw online that the alarm fuse is a common culprit. its $1500. Is this worth getting into? What would be worse case scenario. I also asked how long its taking to drain battery as well waiting on response. Thanks!

Just tell me to skip it

trying to buy any kind of beater even if it lasts 2 months.

Here is the info,

2002 Volvo XC70 Cross Country AWD

-289k miles

-Inspected until October

-No warning lights

-Runs and drives

-Used as a reliable commuter for the last couple years

Recent maintenance:

-Front struts replaced last summer

-Alignment done at the same time

-2 new tires, front brakes, oil change in May

Maintenance history:

-Previous owner told the current owner the transmission was rebuilt (no paperwork, but current owner said it was obvious the car was maintained well)

-There is evidence of a timing belt replacement, but the sticker is unreadable so the current owner cannot confirm when it was done

1200 cash, like I said even if it last 2 months thats fine, I know I can find something better but have been looking for 2 months and this is 3 minutes away from me lol. Most everything I find for under 2k is not inspected/wont pass, doesnt drive, or has a list of 5 things wrong with it. But also just tell me im stupid

Any opinions?

Looking for a cheap car for girlfriend to get around for a little while, so doesn't have to be the best choice even if she gets 6 months out of it shed be happy. Im waiting to hear back which engine it has and if timing belt, water pump or if trans have been serviced. As far as I know they are a volvo family and have had 4+ and they are the only owner for this one. Here is the description, "fwd 175k 2003 Volvo V70 station wagon in very good condition, all needed maintenance done regularly, recently inspected. Wagon has trailer hitch with bike rack (4 bike capacity), sun roof, roof rack & cross bars for kayak rack. $2500 or best offer." The recently inspected is pretty big, most things for this price wont pass inspection lol.
