14-16 week terms vs 8 week terms

I am choosing between two schools. One uses 8‑week terms and the other uses standard 14–16‑week semesters. I work full time and have a family, so I plan to take only one course at a time during my first few semesters. On average, how many hours per week should I expect for a single course in a normal semester versus an 8‑week semester, especially for communication, HR, and organizational leadership courses?

UA Online

I am researching online master’s programs and want to understand what the weekly workload looks like. For anyone who has completed one, how are classes usually structured (assignments, discussions, assessments), and how many hours per week did you typically spend per course? Any insight helps.

“Easy” Online Grad Programs

Hi,

I am exploring asynchronous online graduate programs that align with my family responsibilities, full‑time work, and chronic illness. I am specifically looking for programs that are not excessively time consuming and that do not require extensive weekly writing. I am comfortable with weekly discussions and short posts, but programs that require weekly ten‑page papers are not feasible for me.

I am not interested in institutions such as SNHU. I am looking for programs similar in nature to a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts or a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership.
