Looking for Fantasy Books with a Female Protagonist

Hi everyone,

I have a long, relaxing weekend coming up and I'd love to dive into a new fantasy book.

I am specifically looking for stories with a female protagonist that are written in the third-person perspective. I also prefer non-wizard characters (main characters who are not traditional mages or magic-wielders).

If an author is interested, I'd be happy to provide a review or share my thoughts after reading.

Please drop your recommendations below. Thank you!

Any new European authors around?

Hey, I’m a new author from Slovakia (central Europe), currently writing a slow-burn Science/Fantasy story.

I was wondering if there are any other writers here from Europe or at least in a similar time zone.

Would be cool to exchange experiences or support each other. I have some spare reading capacity alongside my own writing and I'd love to support some fresh voices.

I just published the first chapters of the third arc. Here's what the story is about.

Wings in Shadows started as a simple question:

>what if the thing keeping you alive was also the thing killing you?

Pollux wakes in the snow with no past, a voice in his head that isn't his, and a corporation hunting him down. It's a progression fantasy set in a dystopian world where corporations own everything — the cities, the water, the sick. Power comes with a price and the price is always your body.

The progression here isn't just about mastering what he has. Half of it he doesn't even know exists yet. Every step forward uncovers something new — and something more dangerous.

No chosen one arc. No clean victories. Just a boy on borrowed time deciding what to do with it.

If that sounds like your kind of story 🔗 Wings In Shadows | Royal Road

Story of my day

Fellow authors. I'd like to share something with you. I love good stories, and I write mainly so that readers look forward to every new chapter. And I've experienced that myself — I'm reading another author's story and every time a new chapter drops, it makes my day. It's an incredible read, and I believe you all have stories that warm your heart too. Mine is called The Forbidden Son of Saint Caldzand — and I'm already looking forward to the next chapter.

Please share one story you love reading that isn't your own. Thank you.
