thoughts on pivoting to BA? would love a virtual coffee chat!

I have 4 years of experience in Quality Management, and am looking to pivot into Business Analysis. I am curious to talk to people working in the industry and see how transferable QA skills are and what the day to day is like in BA roles.

I would love to hear from anyone in the field or who have made similar transitions and gain more insight. What helped you break in, and what should I focus on learning? What type of personalities do you have? What is your favorite parts and least favorite parts of your job?

Open to DMs as well for conversations, thanks!

wheel throwing outside?

there are no studios near me and the CC i have been going to is off for the summer, so i recently invested in the vevor pottery wheel (which i love so far!). currently i have a corner in a shaded area in the yard i am working from, but no set place to store my water buckets, shelving of pieces, wedging board, etc. i am planning to make them all easy to transport so i can move them in and out of the yard when i am not working.

the main thing i havent yet thought of a solution for is the water system. i currently have a 3 bucket system, but these buckets are too heavy to transport. i wonder how long they can be outside, especially when the sun hits. they are lidded, but still.

also, although i am outside in fresh air and not worried about lack of ventilation for myself, i am worried about clay dust spreading and hurting the ecosystem around me. should i try to avoid the clay dust dispersing to plants? can i pour out the clay water in a muddy area? i got a table pretty dirty doing reclaim today, and want to hose it down after i sponge but not sure how bad it can spread.

if anyone has suggestions or has a similar setup, i would appreciate any ideas or tips!

anyone open for a coffee chat?

I’ve been working professionally for about four years now and have become very interested in Business Analysis and Product Management as potential career paths and possible next steps from where I am now (QA).

I’ve reached out to some people on LinkedIn to learn more about the daily responsibilities and company culture in these roles, but I completely understand people are busy and I don’t know everyone’s situation, so I figured trying the reverse approach and posting here might work better. I’m mainly hoping to learn more about the work, hear about people’s experiences, and better understand how skills from my current role might translate into these fields. I’d also love to brainstorm with people who’ve made similar transitions or have insight into how to best position that experience.

If anyone working in Business Analysis or Product Management (or even similar fields) would be open to chatting, whether casually through messages or even a quick video call sometime down the line, I’d really appreciate it. TIA!
