Could you share your experience starting a private practice for psychological evaluations as a psychologist in California? What was the cost? Biggest hurdles? How long did it take? How did you get clients?

I want to buy my parents a home but that will mean setting aside buying a home with my husband.
My parents are reaching retirement age and unfortunately they don’t own a house. I am very close with my parents and two sisters. My dream is to have a family home where any of us can go to at any time. My husband’s parents own a home and their children are always welcomed. I currently make 110k in California; if I save for a couple of years and my parents and sisters contribute, I think we can make it happen. I hope to increase my income in a couple of years. My husband currently makes around 60k. However, I also want to have my own home with my husband. We currently live happily in an apartment. We’ve been together for 12 years but our both of our careers only took off recently and he is still working on more college. It does not feel right to do this to him, but buying my parents a home is very important to me. I obviously plan to talk to him about it but I don’t know if I’m being fair. Any thoughts?
