Visiting last week of July, Public Transport for Parks/Trails?
Hi! I am visiting Santa Fe for a work trip but have extended the trip to the weekend because I've always wanted to see New Mexico and am so excited.
The biggest thing I'm excited about is seeing the nature and hiking, however the big caveat is that I don't know how to drive.
I really wanted to go see the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, but I would need to uber from where i'm staying near the plaza. The way there is one thing, but getting an uber back has me really worried. I already have anxiety about solo travel so I really don't want to end up stranded in a remote area!
My questions are:
Is there some kind of public transport/shuttle bus that has service to Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks or some other national park?
How likely is it that I could call an uber ride from the Tent Rocks? Is it feasible or should I abandon this plan altogether?
If Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks is not a possibility, are there any other more accessible nature/landscape activities available?
Thank you so much for reading and any thoughts are appreciated :)
