Tank cap won't stop dripping

Tank cap won't stop dripping

Have a 5 gallon tank (that has only ever been half full) on my van roof.

It has always dripped off the bottom of the cap. I've tried two different "vented" caps, one from Amazon and one from the container manufacturer.

I just recently added a vent into the cap, and air can be pulled in or pushed out. I assumed this would solve the problem without a doubt, ALAS, I was wrong!

I have not been using the diesel heater at all. It's driving me crazy as it drips down the side of my van and dust sticks to it...

Is this just somehow unsolvable??

Curiosity broke the trigger shifter

Hey all!

Have loved seeing the support & community on this sub, could use some help myself as someone who tries to fix things and usually makes them worse lol.

Yesterday on a casual ride my down shifter trigger failed, I could push it all the way in with almost no resistance but it would click. The up shifter still worked fine though. Thankfully only had one small hill on the way back home while in top gear!

I couldn't stop myself from taking it apart later. The device is much more complex than I expected and I have no idea why the down shifter stopped working.

Furthermore, one spring popped out and I have no idea where it goes.

If anyone can help direct the reassembly of this and figure out why the downshifter suddenly failed / if it's fixable, I'd be eternally grateful.

As is, I'm about to just order a new one to replace.
