Why does Endgame often rank lower in people's ranking of RA's discography?
Howdy folks! I was just curious why people often tend to not favor Endgame as much as other albums. Me personally, I rank Endgame as my number 1 album by RA. Between songs like Disparity by Design, Satellite, Survivor Guilt, and others, there is no shortage of songs that are fast, loud, and packed full of meaning full lyrics.
It might not have songs with lyrics like, "All because of you, I believe in angels..." or "how we survive is what makes us who we are", but there are still powerful lyrics. "Perhaps the man in the gutter is not so different from you", "We'll sneak out while they sleep and sail off in the night...", "The wind died, the whole world ceased to move...", "A lost dream of what could have been, a house on fire, a tangled web...", and on and on. And THOSE are *just* the lyrics, not even the MUSIC itself.
The guitar melody that plays in the first bridge of DbD, the way the music quiets down in Satellite to talk about a desire for a new life, then repeats the sentiment louder, as if to say "that is what I want...No, that is what I NEED."
I know that's all *personal preference", and I'm not going to talk shit about someone who favors one album over the other; we all have had life experiences and beliefs formed that make us cling to one album over another. So I'm just curious, what makes YOU not favor Endgame as much as other albums?
