Question: Advice for making a GC calibration curve when the target analyte has a wide range of concentrations in your sample

Hey all, I’m doing work with alcohol and analyzing the methanol content of various types of distilled spirits. I’m about to start the analysis part using quantitative gas chromatography (and either FID or MS depending on which machine is working) but I’m a nice at it and running into some difficulty. Some of my samples may have levels around 1 to 10ppm while others might be above 1000, and im not sure how to effectively set up this calibration curve for such a wide range. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I didn’t expect to like the Bill and Khan roommates plot line as much as I did but it really was such a great decision, and makes so much sense for their characters!

Possible call back to the earlier seasons: at the end of “Searching for Bobby Phisher” Peggy lists out a bunch of code words the family could use, one of which is “Acquaintanceship”, the word she wins the Texas State Boggle Championship with in “Peggy the Boggle Champ”

I really thought Caesar Salad was gonna be an over the top, sitcomy “this pet is alot of work” storyline like the Petriot Act but this was such an emotional and well executed episode

One of my favorite set pieces in the entire show has been this gas station. I have no idea if it is a set or a real building but they absolutely captured the vibe of the slightly run down, homey coastal convenience stores- even down to the old faded soda coolers

It may be because I am easily scared but I’ve never been so unnerved as I was at this scene in Widow’s Bay- the design of this show is fantastic

Hey all, I was hoping someone with more experience with persimmons might be able to help me out. I have a large Meader Persimmon tree that flowers like crazy every year, but I have never gotten a single fruit from it. It seems like the flowers eventually just fall away and never develop fruit.

Is there something I could potentially do to get it to actually fruit?
