Nursing

Trying to figure out realistically what an LPN versus an RN brings home with a full-time posting with island health. I’ve been a healthcare assistant in the last eight years and trying to decide what my next move is.

RPN stenberg

I’ve been accepted into the RPN program through stenberg and also the LPN program through North island college. I have worked as care aide for over 8 years now and need to make a change for the better. I am maxed out in my wage as a healthcare assistant with island health so going into LPN would only be a little bump and pay until I moved up the wage grid compared to becoming a RPN which would be a significant increase in pay. I would love to know anyone who has recently graduated from Steinberg with the RPN designation and their honest opinions. I see there is more options for LPN job jobs than RPN, which makes me a little nervous but also I will be moving to Alberta in a couple years so I wanna make sure I can get a job out there as well.
