One minute
In one minute, a human became a legend, we were trapped, pinned between multiple warships charging rail cannons that shot faster then our ship could move, we all panicked, and ran to our rooms to say goodbye one last time to the pictures of our loved ones.
But our human crewmember had another plan, Alex was his name, he ran straight to the cockpit, passing by everyone who urged him to turn back and give up and yanking away from everyone who was trying to drag him away.
In the next 10 seconds, the lights went out, in the next 20 we heard the engine roar from across the entire ship, 30 seconds and we were pinned to the walls of the ship from the speed we were moving, many only heard the sounds of cannonfire whizzing by, but i was one of the few who could see everything.
Even after the cannonfire was over he refused to stop moving, he kept moving as far and fast as he thought we needed to be, and after the lights flickered on and we slowed steadily to a drift, i ran to the cockpit to see that alex had jerry-rigged parts together, forcing everything but life support to the thrusters.
It took him one minute to save the lives of our entire crew, one minute i will never forget, one minute that gives me the peace of mind to give up my captain status to this one brave human
