So I have been looking for the HW R34 lately to finish the little Godzilla collection I got so far, but no luck since I believe the case isnt out yet

My goal was to finish this little set and finally retire (despite me being kinda new ish) from actively going out looking for mainlines, supers, and treasures (but ngl if they drop a new color of the Kia EV6 and I learn about it I'll get back in 😭)

Finally found the pinkslips R34 and my little Godzilla family is done! Will I still get the HW R34 if I see it? ...maybe, the scale bothers me a TINY bit but I wont overdo myself

Now I can confirm target case letters are out of sync with normal cases, so all this time im looking for the r34 and L Case isnt out yet 😭

Dollar tree seems to have stocked new matchbox stuff so me finding a '24 camaro was a nice surprise, they had a couple F1s and I took one because why not

On the way home I realized I accidentally completed the _1 McLarens (unless theres another one I'm forgetting)

Went out to target to hope i find the r34 and decided to swing by my local family dollar and they had like....4 shippers in the aisle it was nuts, but nothing really worth writing home about other than these GNXs I found in this one shipper, usually I see some random people looking around so, I'd like to think I made someone's day

So before pulling the trigger on getting a MG unicorn mold, I read alot of horror stories on how much of a hand grenade it is and to just not touch the kit

I wanted to put my own review out there to give people some hope

Okay so

Flat out answer, is Banshee/Unicorn Ver Ka a bad kit? 

Nope, not at all

I have pros and cons about it, but overall I was scared for nothing 

The pros are...

-the transformation is way more smoother than the RG, and less troublesome, but it could also be for the size

-the detail and joints feel snug and tight, nothing felt scary to move or too loose

-build was fun, took about half a day to complete (skipping steps by building both legs and arms simultaneously instead of one at a time) 

-rifle is snug and not more loose like the RG

-of course it looks beautiful

 

Now cons

Which may seem like alot but honestly they're inconsequential because they could all be fixed with a drop of superglue

-the skirt peices are SLIGHTLY loose, but the RG skirts are also slightly loose so...nothing new there

-only a 90° bend at the knee, I'm not expecting Spider-Man poses from this thing but the RG having full bend over the MG wins a bit

-the chest is a bit TOO tight to pull apart, either you get lucky and can pull the arms to spread the chest open, or just pull the arms off and pull from the pegs

-there is a connection on the rear skirt that holds the legs/hips in place, and if you're not careful you can undo it and It'll make the legs floppy, but it's intentional to give the unicorn a wider stance so, just plug it back in

-the knee parts that fold over the psychoframe do pop out easily, but not a deal breaker since its a forgiving little connection and can stay on if youre careful

-the part where the shield mounts on can be popped off easily, but once again if you mount the shield correctly on the forearm it should be fine, more sturdy than the RG connection atleast, and even that one i fixed with superglue

-the unicorn horn doesnt line up with the V fin in unicorn mode, but you can swap out the horn for the single one instead of the fold in, and I managed þo make it work by holding it in place for a bit

-my biggest con and kind of annoyance, the chest vents are too loose in destroy mode, they dont necessarily hook in like the RG so in destroy mode if you shake the figure it rattles around, but they dont fall out or off so...theres that

You will most likely need a tool or screwdriver to transform it, the knees don't fully pop out, and the shoulder cannons are difficult to pull out

But overall, not really a hand grenade

Now obv its my first day having it and I'll see what it's like over time but for now it's great, just needs that little 3% of effort to make it all good

And even if parts do fall off or get loose, 

SUPER GLUE

I've heard that the main thing is the back connection for the mid section exposing the psychoframe but I haven't tried it yet but seems firm as well, once again, if anything I'll tighten it up in the future

At the end of the day, if you know what you're doing, a little careful handling your stuff, and have other kits, its a great kit and not the horror stories everyone says...atleast for now, I'll definitely update at a later time if anything bad happens to it

Now I wait for the Brooklyn Bandai store to restock FA Unicorn...

Now I just need to catch a restock to get a single r34...and then I retire from collecting to preserve my sanity 😭

Now I dont have to think about missing the premium FL5 hotwheels made, but that del sol...ill find it eventually

The catfish camaros filled an somehow unnoticed gap in my camaro collection, I didnt even know hotwheels made a 93 camaro 😭

Out of state for the 4th of July and found this along with a Valliant Porsche, and ngl pretty surprising for what they are, rubber wheels, suspension, moving parts, (trunk and doors on the mustang, doors only on the porsche) for 4 bucks isnt bad at all

Skipped on 2jetz though, but its still recent so I could be lucky

5 below also had these two packs so I picked up the mighty K for the livery because I didnt want to pick up the HW metro set

Im guessing its to sort whatever in the case to see whats left but dawg put them back up atleast

Its been a bit dry for me lately, dollar stores still got the usual impala/cossie cases or are already looked through and target hasn't restocked; and if they did i missed it by a few days (the odyssey continues to allude me)

So while out and around I decided to swing by a inconspicuous spot and was hoping to find the odyssey (which I found before but there was a $10 limit on cards) and saw they stocked some new stuff, thankfully asides the regular TH i knocked out everything I wanted from H

As always, gunpla is ADDICTING so my brain was like "hey you should look for and get Freedom so you have all of kiras MS'"

So a visit to Chinatown and some paint apps and stickers later, possibly my most effort into a HG

Painted the knee vents, feet vents, the blue pieces under the shoulders gray, the rear leg thrusters, hip rail gun tips, chest vents, and the v fin of course; I also had leftover stickers from my MGSD Freedom and decided to slap some on and ngl I'm pretty proud of it 😭

Totally not an excuse to also show what I've got, but im curious to see others collections

I feel like im a little weird with them because it goes from "let me get every make and model" to "nah I already have that model even if its a different paint job" to "eh why not" and "i want this to match with the other" 😭

So on my way to hobby lobby to get another storage case, I decided to stop by the target near me (BTM) and look through some stuff

Clearly they emptied the easter bins into the new dump bin and didnt have anything new in particular

As im looking, an employee comes and starts to stock so I stand aside so she can work unbothered, I take a little peek at the case in the cart as im on my phone and I see the case is folded shut and not sealed 😭 I gave a benefit of the doubt and thought itd be open for ease (oh how naive i am) so she leaves, and I look though, dud cossie, no cone shaker, 2 GTs, no dud or super civics

Safe to say someone definitely looked through the case beforehand, what a shame

It seems to be a bit of a dry spell for me, that is until I finally found the GT TH today 😭 saw some other normal THs like quick bite and electro silhouette, so today was a lucky day for sightings (I honestly log them in my memo so I keep note of what I've seen and where

S2000- was today, way too cool to not pick up, matchbox kinda cooking

Lightning supertruck- last week, wanted to match the mach E

Honda E- just saw FH6 gameplay of one sliding and it sold me immediately

GT- no dud civics when I found it but so happy to see it 😭
