Another neon is dead!

Seems like pretty soon I’ll have none left. This time I got home and found one dead in a cave. This morning I found one dead near the plants. Everyone else seems to be doing fine.
Ammonia 0 PPM
Nitrite 0 PPM
Nitrate 5 PPM
PH is 8

This is quite perplexing.

Experience with Liberty Funding for buyout

Last week after seeing one of our members posts, I reached out to Mark at Liberty Funding.

He seems to have a very thorough understanding of our actual payout amounts (for those of us who haven’t received disbursement sheets yet). He’s able to get numbers down to the cent after factoring in lawyer fees, processing fees, and everything.

Anyway I decided to go ahead and work with them. I’ve been working with JT. I was able to sign the first Docusign for my application the same day. The official contract will come on 8/24 (10 days after signing), then we’ll be looking at a court date that’s about 30 days out.

From what I understand they basically just get authorization from a judge that I can sell my future payments to them. They only take the final 4 payments, not the first. Any difference or changes in amount will go directly to me in the future.

They’re giving 80 cents on the dollar. Not a bad deal to get payment upfront.

Anyone who wants to reach out can just txt JT directly. If you reach out as a result of this post, tell him ReAnne sent you by way of Ryan’s original post! His number is (772) 215-1935.

Finally! But a neon is missing…

My tank has finally cycled! I’ve come a long way (please see past posts to understand the full scope of my prior ignorance).

Anyhow, I did a water change last night (mostly to add substrate and rearrange plants) and now I can only find 5 of my 6 neon tetra! I wonder if I buried him when I poured in the new substrate. I can’t find him anywhere this morning! The sand is black so it made the water totally opaque even after rinsing it a bunch of times.

Anyhow, according to other people, one of my calicos is expecting so that’s exciting. I clustered the plants together so they’ll have cover when the birth happens.

An update on The Guys

We decided to keep The Guys and hunker down to take care of them properly. And my brother (not knowing I was an unfit fish parent at the time) brought over 7 more fish.

However, after reading and reading we were able to make the necessary changes.

We are chlorine, nitrate and nitrite free, alkalinity around 80, pH at about 7.5, sodium chloride free and ammonia free. I added in some seachem prime and stability as the tank gets itself together.

We upgraded to a much larger tank, and we will have to upgrade again as The Guys grow. But for now they’ve got more space, non-garden plants, sand and a new filter.

They seem happier and they play in the bubbles all day long! Thanks for everyone who sent me info and helped out!

Continuation on ‘The Guys’

After interacting with many of you yesterday, my daughters and I will be returning our guys to Petsmart today.

A genuine THANK YOU to (mostly) everyone who weighed in! I appreciate you all very much.

Now that the guys will be leaving, I have some food if anyone would like to have it. I can send it in the mail. Or if anyone is near Culver City we could arrange a pickup/meet up. We only got the guys two weeks ago. I bought the pellets then, and the little food rocks yesterday.

I plan to stay in this sub as we prep to get a betta later in the summer and I’ll post updates as things progress!

He was so fuzzy!

Hung out on my chair for a while, he must have been a supreme hopper! Didn’t even see him jump away but enjoyed his presence for as long as I could!
