Now connecting to a slower US Cellular tower?
has anyone else noticed slower speeds and realized they are connected to different band(s) and a different CGI?
I have been noticing somewhat slower speeds for a few months, attributing it to leaves growing back And general congestion, But tonight it was seeming extra slow, so I looked at my advanced stats in Tlife.
For years, I had been connecting to my towns TMobile tower with n41 and b66 (except when it was reporting 5GSA) I have the Arcadyan KVD21 attached to an external Waveform Quadpro. It had been doing a nice job connecting to my towns tower 3 miles N of my home.
tonight I notice I’m on n71 and B2 .. wow, that’s a flashback, that’s what I had when TMHI launched 4 years ago. I looked at the reported CGI (converted to eni) and it did t look right, so I compared it to a screenshot from a year ago and and it is different. So I went to look it up on Cellmapper. and for Tmobiles 310260 it pointed to a tower several states away
Then I filtered Cellmapper by US Cellular .. and I found the match 1 mile N of my home.
My IPhone 17pro is also now connecting to those slower bands. I used to see 5GUC in my home and now just 5G and much slower speeds.
My upload speeds were 30mb-70mb and now just 2-10mb and my download speeds used to be 40-300mb (it had been 200-300 last year) now I’m only seeing 6-16mb down :(
