I’m looking for a cheaper alternative to an FX3 that will provide the same if not more features, if such a camera exists. I like the small form factor of the fx3, but i’m not rolling in dough as of now to be able to just pick one up. i’m a beginner so i want something more affordable without sacrificing image quality or anything like that. i’ll mainly be using it for short films and docs. i have a bulkier cinema camera (fs7) that i’m still learning how to use, but i do really like the small form factor some of these other full frame handheld cameras offer. again im pretty new to this so im not super sure of everything i should be looking out for. any suggestions are appreciated!

I’m currently going to a community college, and I’m looking for Universities to transfer to. I’m a Film/TV Production student, with an emphasis on Directing & Cinematography. When doing research on Film schools I’d be interested in transferring to, UCI caught my attention. However, online it seems like the man Film major centers around Film Studies, not Film Production. I wanted to get people’s opinions on whether UCI would be a good fit for me. Are there good production classes I’d be able to take? What kind of equipment are yall working with? How serious are the Film students about production? Is it worth it?

I’m an independent filmmaker who’s been using an iPhone with the blackmagic camera app to record for quite some time now. I’m looking to finally invest in a proper cinema camera, and the FX3 is at the top of my list. I’m looking to get one second hand due to the lower prices, but also due to the fact that a lot of listings also include some gear (a lens, rig, microphone, batteries, etc.)

I have never owned a professional camera before, and honestly don’t know what to look out for. I don’t wanna look stupid when deciding whether to buy one or not. What are some things I need to look out for when seeing if one is working properly, in good condition, a good price, things like that?
