Arban exercises in one breath
so, I have been learning trombone for 5 years now, and I struggle hard with my breathing. It's never enough air. I think that part of the trick is taking deep breaths while at the same time just using the right amount of air for playing each note, but it seems impossible to "strive to the exercise in one breath".
I take a deep breath at the beginning and manage to play a portion. then i run out of aur just when i need it the most for the higher notes and need to take a quick breath (not easy with all the 16ths!), to play like 2 more measures, and then a quick breath every measure. I feel that I simply don't have enough time to breathe.
Is this normal? Will it become better if I just keep doing the exercises. Or am I doing something wrong here?
Another problem I have is quick single tonguing ... i cannot even speak that quickly, so i am wondering how to speed up the exercises. Can my tongue get quicker?
