I’ve been following the weird situation with Mitch McConnell for the last month. He was taken out of his home on a stretcher and disappeared into a hospital. Yesterday there was a “proof of life” photo and message posted to social media a lot of people don’t really believe.

Here’s my question: of the Senate was run as a private business, how long ago would HR have stepped in and started offering options to transition the Senator from Kentucky out of the Senate. This is, assuming of course, they hadn’t managed him out when he was in his early 50s?

Would they offer FMLA? Suggest disability? Forced retirement? Would he be offered a standard severance package that has now fallen to one week per every year worked?

What would have happened to you, dear anti-work cohort, if you didn’t show up for work for a month?
