Just started an investment discovery/intelligence substack. How to scale?

I have just launched a substack today called RNSBrief. The plan is to go through 6k corporate announcements posted by companies listed in LSE every week, curate a small number (10-15 announcements across 5 categories) of high quality announcements and provide bitesizeed write up on why I found it interesting and why it matters to the company.

The aim is quite simple - I am not trying to be another investment substack/newsletter but rather drawing attention to interesting announcements to help my readers to discover new companies and build their watchlist. I do not provide investment recommendation but rather provide exposure and my thoughts to the readers.

As someone who has never scaled an newsletter nor has experience with digital marketing, how can I scale my substack?

Currently, my plan is to post substack notes on daily basis about my filtering and assessment process and to use a newsletter specific twitter account to bring in attention to my work.

The substack still requires a lot of work from a design perspective but I would like to get an idea from mature newsletter operators here on

a. How to market my substack and whether I am doing it right; and

b. How to scale my substack given I want to stay in my current niche.

If anyone is thinking of getting a MacBook Air, just run and get it

I was a long term Windows users, used to swore that I would never get a MacBook to anyone and everyone. I always thought of MacBook as a product for engineering professionals, creatives or just casual user and as someone who fit into any of those boxes, I always thought it wasn't for me.

Fast forward, I was in the market to buy a laptop that could be used for building projects and writing. I already have a windows gaming laptop but it was not portable or have battery life that could let me take them out to a cafe or library and have focused hours. I turned to MacBook Air M4 as an option because it was portable, sleek, clean and had a long battery life.

Having had this MacBook for 2 weeks, I have seen my productivity levels go through the roof. The apple ecosystem integration to how MacBook operates really set new levels to how productive I could be especially with phone screen mirroring and ability to use my iPad as my second portable monitor. The ecosystem integration in itself helped my ADHD brain to just stay focused on tasks and not to get distracted. The long battery life has also helped me go out and build my projects or do casual productivity work at parks and cafes and I believe the change in environment has really helped the creative juices to get going.

So if anyone is considering getting an MacBook Air, I would suggest go get it. I think the chip architecture, long battery life, the software and hardware in itself would be more than enough for 90% of the population unless you are doing intensive tasks such as music production, 4k video editing or trying to play AAA titles on your laptop.

Places to live/avoid in Worthing

Hi everyone,

I am moving down from London to Shoreham for work. I did a bit of research around the area and decided to strongly consider getting a place in Worthing.

As someone with not a lot of ties to the area, what are the best areas and the areas to avoid in Worthing. It would be great to shortlist those areas while I am househunting.

Edit 1 - I dont have a car, so looking for areas within 1km walk from Worthing station/West Worthing station

Edit 2 - My budget is around £1150-1200 for 1 bed or £1350 to £1400 for 2 bed. I am moving by myself and in mid 20s.

Thanks.

Moving from Audit to FP&A - How to set myself up for success and progression

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here and I have just signed an offer to join a large PE backed tech services/SaaS business as a senior FP&A analyst. The business very acquisitive in nature and is currently around $250m+ in revenue. The team itself is quite lean with 3 people in the team as of now.

As someone moving from an audit role to FP&A, how can I set myself up for success? What skills should I build up in the next 3 to 6 months to learn the most and how can I set up myself for progression.

FYI - I have c.5YOE in audit and based in the UK
