Is there any way to get money back or travel points from a nonrefundable but insurance covered Jetblue flight?
Hi, pretty much what the tin says. I booked a flight with Jetblue and paid for it but have to cancel it due to me no longer feeling safe with the person I was supposed to be staying with. My fare is non-refundable but it is covered by Allianz, though, reading what counts for coverage has been confusing. I saw somewhere that cancelled flights could be used for travel points but I'm unsure about it. My flight isn't until late August of this year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, this was supposed to be a trip to celebrate a friendship but it has greatly soured.
EDIT: After a bit of researching and reading the comments below I think the best course of action is to turn this situation around by making it an enjoyable one instead. Hopefully I can at least get points so I can make a future flight cheaper.
