MCO rant

I know it was raining today. And I know it’s dangerous for baggage handlers to remove baggage from airplanes in the rain, especially if there is lightning around. But the rain stopped hours ago. It is Sunday, July 5 at 7:20 PM. My flight landed an hour ago and I have to go through customs, as I flew in from Mexico. Terminal C has six flights ahead of mine that have not yet received their luggage and they’ve been here way longer than I have. There’s got to be a better way.

Why does JetBlue cancel flights and lie about the reason?

My flight to JFK leaving at 4pm was cancelled due to bad weather in New York. The inbound plane got in on time, and there is no bad weather in the forecast till late tonight, till hours after my flight was supposed to land. Plus all other airlines have plenty of flights going into and out of JFK today and are on time, so I know they’re lying. But why would they lie. Because of this lie, JetBlue couldn’t get me onto another flight to nyc till Wednesday, and I had to pay over a thousand dollars on another airline for a flight tomorrow morning, and I have to book a hotel. I am absolutely fuming and I will most likely never fly this stupid airline again

Is JetBlue rejecting slightly oversized carry-on bags on international flights?

I am flying Bos to Amsterdam. My carry on bag is 24 inches. Will they make me check it as $150.00 luggage?

JetBlue Turned a Bad Travel Day Into a Worse One

Really disappointed with JetBlue. I understand it’s the 4th of July weekend and airports are busy, but after delaying our flight by over 5 hours, they waited until we were boarding to tell us we had to gate-check our 20-inch hard side carry-on, the exact same bag we flew to San Diego with on JetBlue just a few days earlier with no issues. It felt like an unnecessary last-minute hassle for no reason. Now it’s 2:45 a.m., and we’re still waiting for our bags at JFK after an already exhausting day.
Thanks, JetBlue, for this amazing service.

Jetblue not honoring sameday mosaic switches on Jetblue flights booked through United

Has anyone seen this before - agent and escalation agent kept insisting that mosaic benefits for sameday switches don't apply on tickets not booked through Jetblue.

This seems new but wanted to see if others are encountering the same thing.

With the closure of the food court in T5 for the foreseeable future is T5 now officially the single worst terminal at a major airport in the country?

Flight 1354 DCA to BOS Delay of 14 hours

As a JetBlue customer for over a decade with a Mosaic status and Premier credit card member, I am deeply disappointed in JetBlue’s practices of listing flights as uncontrollable delay to deny compensation and deny reimbursement requests when 11 hours and 55 minutes of the almost 14 hour delay was controllable.

This is a matter that I’m heavily considering reporting to the Department of Transportation and pursuing legal action if JetBlue cannot make right. Ive called in various times and filled out two reimbursement requests just to have them be denied by employees who have not done their due diligence in reviewing the notes left by customer service agents.

We only received a $12 meal voucher and I would’ve rather had the flight get cancelled (Flight 1254 after ours was) than wait at the airport. My flight to DCA was delayed by 3 hours and I received a $50 credit but an almost 12 hour delay requires actual compensation and so far there’s been none. Under the previous administration the executive order would’ve reimbursed us $775 per person for a delay over 9 hours. While the current DOT revoked this requirement, there is still the JetBlue Customer Bill of Rights which grants at least $200 of TrueBlue points.

I’ve seen other posts about this for other flights to Tampa or out of Dallas. It’s about time for a class action lawsuit for these practices to be investigated. Please post any similar experiences and grievances. I have already shared a concern with JetBlue leadership and hopefully it gets resolved.

Meal Service Help

I got tired of clicking around the airline website after about 10 minutes, so here I am...

I have a cross-country flight with JetBlue at the end of August.

It is a 5 hour and 20 minute, non-stop, overnight flight.

I am wondering what, if any, meal service will be available and/or included for an economy fare.

JetBlue threatened to deny boarding to my 84-year-old grandmother (wheelchair, valid B1/B2 visa) unless we bought a return ticket in 15 minutes

My grandmother is 84, uses a wheelchair, and had a valid passport and B1/B2 visa. As far as I understand, there is no blanket requirement for B1/B2 travelers to have a return ticket before boarding a flight to the U.S.

At check-in, a JetBlue agent told her she couldn't board without a return ticket. She called me from the counter, upset and scared. I asked why, B1/B2 visa holders aren't under the same return-ticket rule as ESTA/visa-waiver travelers. No clear answer, just: buy a ticket or she misses the flight. They gave her about 15 minutes before the counter closed.

My grandmother has mobility limitations and was already anxious about traveling. Hearing her on the phone, scared she was about to be stranded at 84 years old, was awful.

I bought the return ticket over the phone right then just to get her on the plane. Only after I sent proof of purchase did they let her through.

JetBlue later issued a partial refund, with no explanation of what policy was actually applied, or why it applied to her.

So, is this a documented JetBlue policy, or did one agent make a call that shouldn't have happened to a disabled 84-year-old traveler with fully valid documents? Anyone else dealt with this on a B1/B2 visa?

Didn't expect this to blow up... I will update if JetBlue responds.

Are large dogs allowed on Jet Blue?

I saw this picture on social media of someone flying with their adult Afghan hound (large breed dog) last September. The menu in the picture says Jet Blue. Is this really Jet Blue? When I search online, it says Jet Blue doesn’t allow large pets.

The picture definitely looks to be of a standard commercial carrier’s first class cabin, not a private jet, based on the appearance of the seats and the attributes on the boarding pass.

Just trying to solve a mystery, not looking to start any arguments here or anything.

Is YVR to JFK a reliable route?

I really hate taking flights that include layovers especially right now flying as a Canadian into the US is even more of a hassle and I’d just like to avoid that as much as possible. The only available direct flight is the JetBlue redeye flight. I was researching this airline as I usually fly air canada or westjet and I’ve heard that some routes are far less reliable than others. Does anyone have experience going from YVR to JFK using JetBlue? I’m also only booking a one way as I’m going to train up to MTL and fly out of there. Any advice is appreciated!

Upgrade to Premier Card

I finally received an email to upgrade to the Premier card from the Plus card, but when I click on the link in the email to upgrade it just brings me to my Barclays online account home page and there’s no where to actually process the upgrade. I checked in the Offers tab as well and there’s nothing. I’ve clicked on the link in my email both via my mobile accessed via the mobile app and on my desktop with no luck. Has anyone experienced this and how have you resolved it?

Jetblue Credit Card to Premier

I received an email to upgrade to the Jetblue premier card. I thought I read on here that you can only upgrade with an invite and I am interested in getting lounge access but had a few questions before moving over -

  1. Will everything stay exactly the same and just move to Premier? (points, login, etc). I have no complaints with the card and want to make sure the transition is seamless.
  2. the offer doesn't mention any point perks, like "sign up today and get x many points". Has anyone ever seen that offering when moving to premier? Making sure I'm not missing out if they happen to send better offers out throughout the year.

Feel free to share anything else you think I should know, really just interested in the lounge access (I know its still new and might not be the greatest yet, but better than sitting in JFK for me). Thank you!

Is there any way to get money back or travel points from a nonrefundable but insurance covered Jetblue flight?

Hi, pretty much what the tin says. I booked a flight with Jetblue and paid for it but have to cancel it due to me no longer feeling safe with the person I was supposed to be staying with. My fare is non-refundable but it is covered by Allianz, though, reading what counts for coverage has been confusing. I saw somewhere that cancelled flights could be used for travel points but I'm unsure about it. My flight isn't until late August of this year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, this was supposed to be a trip to celebrate a friendship but it has greatly soured.

EDIT: After a bit of researching and reading the comments below I think the best course of action is to turn this situation around by making it an enjoyable one instead. Hopefully I can at least get points so I can make a future flight cheaper.

JetBlue has gone downhill

What has happened with this airline?? My last few experiences have been horrible; riddled with unnecessary delays, unnecessary forcing of checking bags when sizes are ok and overhead bin space is abundant, rude gate agents and staff, old airplanes that need upgrades, plane technology that doesn’t work properly, etc. And their customer service just doesn’t seem to care about it. After my last experience last week, I’ve decided I’m no longer going to fly on this airline again.

Bay Area to Buffalo

I will need to fly to Buffalo a lot over the next year (4 to 5 times) there are no direct flights, but Jet Blue comes close. Thoughts on this route and if there is a better airline to choose for this flight. Thoughts and experiences would be appreciated if others have done similar.
