Mint Upgrade worth it?

Roundtrip from Boston to Los Angeles coming up soon. I just got the Mint upgrade bid email from JetBlue. My understanding is to never pay over $100 per hour for a business class upgrade (6 hr flight). Ive heard it’s even cheaper if you take your chances with the gate agent to ask for a mint upgrade.

Midea Dehumidifier P2 error

I have a Midea dehumidifier, model MAD50PS1AQGR, manufactured 04/2024. It was working fine on continuous/pump hose drain for months. I accidentally deleted it from my Google Home and the Midea smart home app. Since re-adding it, the bucket fills up every few days and throws a P2 error.

What I’ve tried so far:

**•**	Re-added the device to the app and reset the drainage schedule
**•**	Cycled through all drain modes in the app (Manually Empty, Continuous Drain, Pump Hose Drain, Bucketless Mode)
**•**	Confirmed the hose isn’t kinked
**•**	Confirmed the pump hose is properly inserted into the house drain
**•**	Confirmed the bucket is fully and correctly seated
**•**	Power cycled the unit (unplugged 60+ seconds, plugged back in)
**•**	Manually triggered pump mode — I hear humming from the pump, but I’m not 100% sure it’s pushing water

• Used compressed air to clear out the pump hose and little hose that stays in the bucket.
Water does accumulate in the bucket normally, so the compressor/condensing side seems fine — this seems isolated to the pump drain path

At this point I suspect either an airlocked/weak pump or a stuck float switch, possibly related to the app/device re-pairing not syncing the drain mode back to the unit’s control board. Has anyone dealt with P2 errors after removing/re-adding the device from a smart home app, or know if there’s a way to force a pump reset on these Midea units?

Ryan Walker Amanvari Update Livestream

I just finished watching Ryans livestream. There were not many updates surrounding the ongoing Amanvari situation other than Rayn stating Aman has not contacted him at all. He gave a shout out to both Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton for reaching out to him to assist with his logistics and lodging.

What are your takeaways?

Full refunds are a thing if the past it seems

A few times this year, Ive had to refund some items which normally has never been an issue. Almost every “refund” now just adds credits to your account that expire within a certain time frame. I do not remember having to deal with this, to this level, in the past.

Thoughts on this Cozumel Excursion?

It’s my first time cruising through the western Caribbean and I have my excursions booked. On more than one occasion, I have seen someone say to stay on the boat at Cozumel.

I already have this excursion booked with my family. Has anyone taken this excursion or can give me insight into the Cozumel comments?

Feedback on Qsuites Double Suite Booking. BOS - DOH

I would love to know if I chose good Qsuite seats on my trip to the Doha next year. For outbound and inbound I booked seats 1E and 1F. My understanding is these are the double suites with no middle middle barrier so that I essentially have a space with my wife for the flights. What are your thoughts?

So what is still worth it for award travel?

With all the devaluations and rule changes going on, what are some of the experts in this group finding as still good value redemptions. Certain programs, airlines, etc.?

Langham Chicago - An excellent stay

Im wrapping up my stay at The Langham, Chicago and am very satisfied. I booked the River View Suite for the weekend of the 4th.

Pros: The service was top notch. All requests were responded to very quickly and everyone was extremely pleasant. They even remembered our names after only one interaction. The food was great and the hotel itself was very nice. The best part is the location being directly next to the riverwalk. We got some great views right outside our window of the fireworks being set off on the bridges.

Cons: I don’t have too many cons really. Housekeeping could have been slightly more thorough in their dusting and some of the carpeting and other furnishings are showing their age.

I will definitely be back one day after I try out the St. Regis next time.

100% Points Bonus Redemption in Anguilla

Just booked five nights at the Zemi Beach house in Anguilla for $2,150 by purchasing points. Normal cash rate for my stay would be $4k.

Anyone else get some good redemptions?

What clothing brands are HENRY’s wearing?

I have lost a lot of weight and increased my income over the past year and find myself needing to shop for new clothes. I figure this is a good opportunity to get some quality items.

What brands are high quality that you all shop at. I am not a brand loyalist at all, just searching for good quality fabrics and fits.

420k MR Redemption Qatar Airways Qsuites

Redeemed Qsuites and Business Class seats from Boston to the Seychelles and back next april. Do you guys calculate CPP based on round trip price, or by flight by flight? I posted this last month and got dragged for miscalculating my CPP.

Has anyone successfully used the pay later option to hold a room?

I booked the room I want for the 4th of July weekend using pay later just so I could lock in my room with the plan of booking it immediately on July 1st to get the $300 credit. I just checked and that room is no longer available. Theoretically if I cancel my pay later reservation, the room should open up for me to book right?

Update: Oil Change at Walmart

Last week I asked if it was fine to get an oil change at Walmart. Almost all of you advised me against it. I didn’t listen and look at what happened 😔 /S

Walmart for an Oil Change?

I go to Walmart for my oil changes and never have issues. I have a 986 Boxster that's due and didn't know if that would be too complex for Walmart mechanics or if I should just find a European auto mechanic nearby instead.

Pre-Tax or Roth IRA? - 32% Tax Bracket

My new job will put my income in the 32% tax bracket. I currently contribute to a Roth IRA but will converting to the backdoor method in order to continue my contributions. I have only done Roth 401K's in the past. Is it wise to diversify and contribute to my new 401K pre-tax instead of Roth while using the backdoor method to max out my Roth IRA?

My Qatar Airways Redemption | $41,009 -> 420k MR - 9.41 CPP

Finally redeemed my 420k points and Im happy with the outcome.

I was able to redeem 2ppl Qatar Airways Boston to Seychelles round trip for 420k Amex MR + $1,496.43 in fees. 9.41 CPP with everything factored in except the optional seat upgrade fees that I paid.

My BOS to Doha and back will be in the Qsuites Double Suite on their A350-900. Super excited for this royal treatment and bed setup while I gorge myself on food.

The only hangup was getting Seychelles to Doha return as they didn’t offer award availability for the exact time I needed so I ended up booking economy and using my leftover Avios for a seat upgrade to the very front. It’s a 4:30hr flight so Im not going to lose any sleep over it.

Overall how did I do?
