Amex offers have become terrible

I remember there used to be some pretty solid card offers on a many big brands for travel and regular shopping.

But now, the offers are very sparse and not very usable. Anyone else have this issue?

Flying Blue launches 3 tiers for award flight (deval)

Looks like flying blue is now unbundling award redemptions into light, standard, and flex. Not as bad as Lufthansa, but a lot less perks than before.

Award travel gets harder every year.

Best way to book 2 one-way ANA business seats to Tokyo (late June 2027) with 107k Amex?

I passed the “midnight” release for the bet chance to get my seats about 6 weeks late and need a game plan

Route: North America → Tokyo (HND or NRT). Flexible on origin
Dates: One-way, departing June 28–30, 2027.
Passengers: 2 adults.
Cabin: Business (would consider first if the math ever worked).
Points: 107,000 Amex Membership Rewards. Willing to transfer to a partner.

Research I’ve already done:
Plan is Amex → Virgin Atlantic Flying Club → ANA business, one-way. From the current Virgin/ANA chart, one-way business is 52,500 pts/person from the West Coast vs 60,000 from Central/Eastern US. So 2 pax West Coast = 105k (fits my 107k), but East Coast = 120k (13k short). I also know there’s no Amex→Virgin transfer bonus live right now (the 30% ended July 31), and that ANA space has to be confirmed by phone before transferring.

If anyone can help me secure tickets buisness class and how would you do it

My back up option is to secure TWO round trip tickets in economy but kind of want that last resort

If you're still booking through Delta you're throwing away money

Booking SLC → LAX in Delta First for myself so I shop it around before pulling the trigger, since I always tell people not to just book straight through the airline.

Delta's portal wants 27,000 points for the flight. I ran it through KLM and it came out to 20,000 points, and with the current transfer bonus of 20% from Citi it knocked it down to 17,000 points.

Same flight, same cabin, just a different program pricing Delta's own metal. Anyone else been finding good Flying Blue pricing on Delta redemptions lately?

MIA to Sicily help!

Hi I’m trying to plan a trip from Miami to Sicily (preferably Catania airport) and I can’t seem to find any reasonably priced flights in $ or points. Look to travel around oct 1-13 2026 with some flexibility.

I have the most Amex points (platinum) also chase, BILT and capital one points. I also hold a citi AA card and Wells Fargo but not many points there. At this point I’m willing to open a new card to get a decent flight ideally not in economy. I’ve been looking for months with not much luck. Any tips and advice is greatly appreciated! TIA

Do deals ever get posted here for flights from Europe to US?

I'm a total novice. So far I have gotten the SUB from Chase and combined my Chase points and I am trying to use them to get a one way ticket FROM Europe to US. I am flexible on a lot of it. I just was curious to see if what was posted here was only ever FROM US as departure point.

EWR to BKK for Honeymoon

My partner and I are relatively new to redeeming points for flights. We want to try to get as much advice as possible before booking. We have around 500K Chase Reward points accumulated and are looking to have our honeymoon in Thailand in November. We want to fly business class and will be flying out of EWR. Any advice on how to get the biggest bang for our buck would be appreciated. Thanks a million!

I’ve tried looking and I keep finding flights for 200K points each way. I don’t know if that’s considered reasonable?

Want to use delta e-credits

Here’s my situation:
- i have about 1000$ in delta e-credits
- current location is BOM
- i don’t have a US visa nor can i get it anytime soon so destinations in USA are not possible.
- other destinations are quite far in South America or Canada from BOM but i might consider them as a last option. Europe is my first choice
- my e-credits expire in September but i can book them for a future date before they expire using the e-credits

I don’t see anything available because even though they have partners they can’t do flights that don’t have at least 1 touchdown in USA/Canada probably.
Any options anyone?

Ana flight extreme surcharges

I’m trying to book a flight to Tokyo using my Amex points, ideally flying ANA from a major U.S. city. However, every time I search, the fuel surcharges are coming out to around $1,000 per person. I’ve tried different dates and departure cities, but the taxes and surcharges seem to be about the same every time.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this just how ANA award bookings are priced right now? Are there any tips or strategies for finding a better deal? I’m looking to travel in November!

AA flight

Newer to points and want to do this right. I need to book two AA flights for me and a friend. I have the AA card, and the Chase Sapphire Reserve which I think is generous with travel points. Which do I use to book, and can I still get anything from AA for flying? I was thinking of using AA miles for one flight but it’s a bad redemption because I don’t have flexibility. Any help is appreciated.

Guidance getting to JNB

Hi everyone,

We are relatively new to the points space and looking to get 4 business RT class seats from east coast US to JNB for next summer. We predominantly fly AA and have 500k points and EP status. We also have 300k MR points.

I’m having difficulty trying to plan an itinerary of one way flights that make sense. Would like to avoid the Middle East given the current climate. That would mean transfer through LHR/CDG/FRA but I don’t think we would have enough points to cover more than one leg/way for 4 people.

Alternately we can pay cash and in that case, was looking at the possibility of a stopover at IST. Has anyone had experience with that program or Turkish air? Also, which credit card would maximize 20k airline spend for future points?

Thanks!

Is 115K miles and $800 in taxes from SFO to BKK in business a good deal?

Just found a flight from SFO to BKK for 115k miles and $800 in taxes with Air France. Is this a good deal? I feel like the taxes kill it, but I’m struggling to find a low mileage deal in business. Next best is Alaska at 250k mile and $80 in taxes.
