I fear the JFK/Jet Blue flight messes may be true

I've been eyeing this sub for weeks leading up to a NYC trip hoping it all wasn't true but yesterday my flight from JFK to FLL for 8pm was on time all day, on time when I got to the airport at 6:30pm, on time when they boarded the whole plane, on time when we started to taxi and then 40 min later the captain came on the speaker to say there's 50 planes ahead of us waiting for takeoff and the route was just shut down but they had no further info. Another 40 min, they came back on to say, no update. Then about another 30 min later, they said looks like we'll have to go back to the gate while we wait for ATC to give an update about the route and to refuel. We go back to the gate and at first they said we don't have to deplane but are allowed to get up and stretch but after 15 minutes of that, they came back and said everyone has to get off but NO update and NO direction on what's next but to just to stay near the gate. They finally let us get back on the plane around MIDNIGHT and then it was another long taxi about 30-40 min before takeoff and the route that was opened up was a longer one that original so we didn't land in FLL until I think around 3:45am. i was delirious at that point. Never happened to me on a flight in my life but at least the flight wasn't cancelled. I will say the crew and captain were incredibly nice and really tried to keep people comfortable. They did pass out water and extra snacks.
