Watch out for the JetBlue / Barclays credit card checkout bait-and-switch!
If you're booking JetBlue airfare, be extremely careful with the credit card offers prompted at checkout.
During booking, they push an offer for a $300 credit and free checked bags upon card approval. I applied, was instantly approved, and completed the purchase with the new card.
When I called weeks later to check on the card delivery, customer support informed me that I was actually approved for a secondary, lower-tier card, one that gets none of the $300 credit or baggage perks.
They bury this downgrade in fine print during a high-urgency checkout flow where people are rushing to secure ticket prices. When I asked support to honor the offer shown at checkout or cancel the transaction, they refused. Now I'm stuck with non-refundable flights and full baggage fees.
Shame on me for trusting the banner offer without reading every line of fine print, but this feels like a total bait-and-switch strategy. Consider this a heads-up.
