I am 50 yrs old and have been an out gender queer since my early teens. 5 years ago I finally had enough money to get gender affirming surgery. One of my sisters let me stay with her while I was recovering.
Fast forward to 30 minutes ago, my sister and I were talking on the phone and our little brother came up in conversation. She let it slip that when I got my surgery he went on a tirade about how I was mutilating my body and she found a surgeon for me to do it.
I haven't spoken to our little brother since 2004. Not because he is transphobic, in fact until today I had no idea he was, but because he is a fucking asshole and I didn't want that in my life.
My sister did not find the surgeon I found the surgeon.
My staying with her for my recovery actually helped heal more than my surgery it helped heal some childhood truama

Finding out he was an asshole about me getting gender affirming care is not overly shocking (he's a real POS about everything). Honestly it doesnt effect me in the least bit. I am just beyond annoyed he thought he had any say about anything I do.

Warning. They will cancel your train, say youre rebooked for the next train send you an email with the booking info then when you get to the station they will say oh its a mistake you have to take a bus hours later.
Earlier today I received notification my Cascade Business Class ticket from Tukwila to Bellingham was canceled. I spent over an hour and a half on hold to talk to an agent so I could get a new ticket. After securing a new business class ticket for Sat morning at 830 am, I was sent an email with the new ticket and a few dollar refund because the price was different. About 20 mins ago I received a different email with a coach ticket on a different date. My business class ticket is cancelled and there is no way for me to make the new ticket time, as it is 24 hrs before the one I wanted. I am once again on hold with Amtrak. Is this normal for Amtrak?
Amtrak just called to tell me, via a recorded message, that my train tomorrow was cancelled. I went on the app to see if I could catch another train and it says the train i am booked on is "sold out". I have been on hold for 20 mins waiting to talk to an agent. Any suggestions?
