Are Kayasthas in Bengal Related to Rajputs/Kshatriyas or a Separate Community

Hi, I’m from Rajasthan. During the recent Bengal elections, I was looking into Rajput/Kshatriya candidates and came across something interesting. I found that in Bengal there doesn’t seem to be a formally recognized “Kshatriya” caste in the same way as in Rajasthan, and many people mentioned Kayasthas in that context.

When I searched further, Google showed that Kayasthas are sometimes referred to as “Brahma-Kshatriya,” and some sources say they historically combined both administrative/warrior and scholarly roles and they are originated from kshtriya. I also noticed that Kayasthas are more common in Bengal, UP, Bihar, MP, Assam, Odisha, and Maharashtra, while I rarely hear about them in Rajasthan.

So my question is: are Kayasthas historically related in any way to Rajputs/Kshatriyas as google showing they are originated from kshatriya, or are they considered a completely separate community? And in Bengal, did Kayasthas represent us or are they trying to become kshtriya by sanskritisation like other?

Honest Question About Rajput Unity Across States

What is the ground reality of Rajput identity across regions?

For example, would a Rajasthani Rajput support a Bihari or Gujarati Rajput over a non-Rajput from Rajasthan in a conflict situation just because of shared Rajput identity?

In my college, I saw a Pahadi Rajput support a Jaat from west up during a fight instead of supporting a Rajput from Eastern UP. That made me wonder — in real life, what matters more: regional identity, caste identity, language/culture, friendships, or just personal equations?

why there were no opposition from any non rajasthani rajput when hanuman beniwal talked shit about rajput women?

Do Rajputs from different regions actually feel a strong pan-Rajput identity, or do local/regional connections usually come first?

Interested in hearing honest experiences and observations from different regions.
