whats the process of cancelling admission IF I've attended classes

Hey everyone,
I’m currently a 12th pass out enrolled in B.Com (Hons) at a normal college, preparing for CA Foundation. Lately, I've been in a massive dilemma about my future path, and I need a genuine, unfiltered reality check from people who’ve actually been in this position.
I come from a low-income / EWS background (like it's BAD), and my ultimate long-term dream is to land front-office Investment Banking / Consulting roles.
I was originally planning to target CUET for top DU colleges like SRCC / LSR / Hindu. However, my cousin—who works at EY—consistently demotivates me about this. He keeps telling my family and me that aiming for SRCC is "useless," that top college degrees don't guarantee anything, and that I should just drop all college aspirations and focus 100% on CA from home/local university.
He convinced my parents that DU is too expensive (claiming living/fees will cost ₹5L+) and that I’m "wasting time" even thinking about Delhi. Because of this narrative, I felt forced into taking admission at a local college. But the environment here feels completely dead-end—no societies, no exposure, no peer group, and zero CV value.
I'm academically strong, and I genuinely believe that getting into a Tier-1 college like SRCC could give me financial stability at 21 via campus placements, an elite peer network, and a solid baseline for IB/MBA/CA later on. But his constant shaming and "you'll fail CA if you focus on college" talk has planted so much doubt in my head.
I want to ask the community here:
Is SRCC / Top DU actually "useless" for a CA aspirant? For CAs or DU students—does having a Tier-1 college brand like SRCC actually open doors for front-office IB/consulting and Big 4 articleship that doing CA from a local/state uni doesn't?
SRCC + CA Balance: How do students at top DU colleges actually manage CA Foundation/Inter alongside college? Is attendance flexible enough to give CA attempts without dropping college?
Placements & ROI for EWS: For someone from an EWS/low-income background, how accessible are DU/SRCC financial assistance schemes in reality? Is the placement security at SRCC worth fighting for?
Did anyone regret giving up a top college for CA? If you listened to relatives/family and gave up on CUET/DU to sit at home doing CA, do you regret it now? Or was focusing solely on CA the right move?
I’m really struggling to filter out the noise and figure out if my original dream was right, or if I’m just being delusional like my cousin claims.
My cuet scores as of now land in 920s~, so I genuinely think by the time exam approaches I can do something.
Would really appreciate blunt, honest feedback from people who know the field. Thanks!
