Wildlife at San Antonio Creek

I see red tail hawks pretty much daily, but this was the first time I’ve seen one snacking from so close.

I normally run a CAT 302 (5000lbs) but the last 5 weeks running Kubota and bobcat machines really have me appreciating how much better the CAT really is.

The bobcat machines I’ve run are absolutely gutless, slow hydraulics, jerky final drives and the boom swing controls are infuriatingly awkward to operate.

Kubota has better power but the hydraulics feel a bit sloppy and the machine really jerks around when switching flow between circuits.

By contrast, my CAT 302 has all the power I could need, super smooth and precise hydraulic controls, and the foot pedal track controls and joystick aux and boom swing controls allow me to work more efficiently and perform more advanced maneuvers.

I know CAT machines are more expensive than that the other brands I mentioned but I can work almost twice as fast on some jobs and am so much more comfortable operating the machine day after day.

Anyway, what brands or machines do you like or dislike and why?
