bus tunnel access

I needed another entrance to the tunnels under the roads, so I threw this together real quick with plans to rebuild something better later but I kinda like it. Looks like a funky modern greenhouse crossed with a city subway entrance.

Steel pipe factory with matching truck station

Steel pipe factory. Makes 300/min from 1,200 iron ingots (alt recipe). Got the idea from a helix build I did in another game a while back. Might work on the interior more but it's cramped already, mostly just a showpiece to bulk up the city.

Dual truck station with modern design

I've been hiding my truck stations by building structure around them, but this time I wanted them to fit naturally with the design. The factory next to it is making 4,800 iron ingots per min so I wanted 2 truck stations (each with a max of 2,400 items/min) able to fill trucks. Went with an open drive-through design. I think it works.

Wire Factory

Simple wire factory, gets ingots by truck from the smeltery then ships wire out via the other truck station. Makes 2,400 wire/min

Ficsaco Gas Station

I'm building a little city, and for local item transfer I want to use trucks to make the roads seem alive and trains eventually for long hauls. The trucks need fuel and it seemed kinda stupid to run fuel to every one for such short trips, so I made a centralized gas station. It has 1200 coal/min running to 2 truck stations, so plenty to siphon off for other projects. I'm planning to set truck routes that hit up the gas station every x stops and hopefully everything runs fine. The design is a cross between a Texaco gas station I remember as a kid with Ficsit flair.

Copper Smeltery with Matching Truck Station

I needed copper ingots for a different factory I'm planning so I went and made this, turned out pretty cool. Makes 1200 copper ingots/min and feeds the matching truck station with overflow going to a sink for now

Iron Smelting Factory

I wanted to embrace visible logistics and have glowing belts on display. 80 smelters that will be cranking out 2400 iron ingots per min.

Embracing logistics

I've been hiding my logistics in the last few factories, so this time I decided to embrace it and have open logistics with levels of visible multicolor neon belts in an iron smelting factory

Plastic / rubber / petro coke factory

First playthrough, 2nd factory for this city block. Refineries producing plastic, rubber, and petro coke. My first factory was boxy so I really tried to add depth to this one. Tried to blueprint some sections but refineries are huge and the building sections required too much fiddling to snap clean so I just did it all by hand. If I never have to place another beam it'll be too soon lol

tfw you hold your breath and switch everything on for the first time

2nd "real" factory. bunch of refineries making plastic, rubber, and petro coke. got everything working with minimal fiddling. another good learning experience. I think I'm done with conveyer floor holes, they rarely work right especially mk 6. got some ideas for the outside shape/theme and deco but for now i'm just happy everything works. instead of a loopback to equalize pipe pressure, I did buffer towers this time and they seem to be working great.

Forward progress

now that the first factory is done and I have some practice, I started to make roads with plenty of tunnel space to bus items. going to build south towards oil and have this factory ship materials to a bunch of refineries at the next location. it won't be far so I plan to use trucks to give the roads some life

Made a small wire/quickwire factory, learned a lot

It's my first factory with walls and a roof, so I went simple to learn the ropes about clean building and logistics. Makes wire and quickwire out of caterium from a nearby deposit. Still need to deco with signs and stuff. Right now I'm just sinking everything, but I plan to add more factories and shuttle parts to them.

Decided to start this factory over

I started a factory yesterday to match the caterium mine in the back, but it had all sorts of weird angles, floors not lining up, and was entirely too dark inside so I tore it down. Changed over to a brighter, simpler building design with enough windows for natural light to come through. Just finished the first production floor and basement logistics

Testing time

First time making a real factory that's not just machines on foundations. about to test run the smelters and make sure everything is hooked up correctly before moving on to the next production floor. it's a caterium factory so i went with a dark gold industrial theme

Starter base

I just kept chaining machines together and supplying inputs by train and honestly the spaghetti factor isn't too bad and it cranks out everything up to turbo motors. Gonna stop the progression grind for now and start using all of these materials to build some cool factories.

First attempt at something fancy looking

Going to build a small wire/quickwire factory so I built this to house a nearby caterium node, miner inside

Power Plant

First playthrough, phase 4. Built a fuel gen power station for more juice and a railway to haul the inputs. Learned a lot about fluids/pipes. Originally had everything piped internally but I was playing around with loopbacks and buffers trying to stabilize oil flow.
