How, 888poker?
I’ve been stuck in this verification nightmare with 888poker for almost 10 months now, and at this point it honestly feels absurd.
They keep asking me to provide a utility bill with my address in order to verify my account. Sounds simple enough, right? Except for one small detail: I haven’t lived at that address for SEVEN YEARS.
So naturally, I tried updating my address on the account. But here’s the catch: to change the address, they first require me to verify the account. And to verify the account, they require a utility bill from the old address that I no longer live at.
So basically:
* I can’t verify because the address is outdated.
* I can’t update the address because the account isn’t verified.
One thing literally blocks the other. It’s a completely broken system.
To make matters worse, the link they keep sending me to update the address doesn’t even work. I’ve tried multiple times, on different devices and browsers, and it simply won’t open properly. I’ve explained this to support over and over again, but every response feels like a copy-paste template that ignores the actual issue.
At one point, I even changed the electricity bill from my brother’s name to my own name just to meet their requirements. I submitted it… and they still rejected it.
It genuinely feels like they’ll keep asking for more and more documents forever without actually solving anything. The process becomes impossible when the company’s own rules contradict each other.
What’s funny is that the only moment they seem to become more responsive is when you mention filing a complaint with eCOGRA or taking legal action. Suddenly, then they start sounding more cooperative.
I understand security checks and KYC verification are important, but there’s a huge difference between protecting users and trapping them in an endless bureaucratic loop with no real solution.
Has anyone else here gone through something similar with 888poker? Because at this point, I honestly don’t know what else they expect me to do short of resurrecting old utility bills from a house I left nearly a decade ago.
