Please help me with acne routine- im desperate

NOTE: THIS IS LONG. BUT PLEASE IF YOU HAVE TIME PLEASE READ IT AND GIVE ME SOME THOUGHTS OPINIONS FACTS ANYTHING- PLEASE. 🤍

CONTEXT OF MY SKIN: Hormonal acne that is inflammatory- and lowk randomly got worse in the last year? (Used to just be during week before my period and now more) , fungal little acne too those ones that aren’t inflammatory. Big ass pores that get clogged up and no matter what I use or try the only thing that stops them being clogged… is squeezing the sebum out. Sigh. Skin is textured. My acne scars are flat and dark. im in my early 20s, female, brown skin.

CURRENT ROUTINE:

AM: cleanser, azelaic acid, moisturiser, spf.

PM: oil cleanser, cleanser, barrier serum, tret 0.025 (just started and every 3 nights ish) moisturiser.

Okay. - OIL CLEANSERS.

  1. i don’t get it. Everyone says different. Do oil cleansers cause breakouts?
  2. Why do ppl say they r essential in acne prone skin skin care routine?
  3. are any actually all three- hormonal acne safe, clogged pore safe AND fungal acne safe? Because every time I find one they can cause one type of acne.
  4. anua oil cleanser is apparently acne safe completely- I’ve been using it- I fear it’s giving me acne and if it isn’t the cause of my acne, it definitely isn’t doing anything good either- see no difference in sebum dots and pores etc- what is the actual verdict.

4.b) IS anua oil cleanser acne safe or not. Apparently yes, according to ppl’s experiences- varies widely.

4.c) DO OIL CLEANSERS ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING💔💔💔

  1. any recommendations. I beg.

next. MOISTURISERS.

  1. apparently u want a hydrating moisturiser especially on tret which ive just started.
  2. Cerave moisturising lotion is what I use rn- but according to ppl on Reddit this gives them acne too?!?!🫩😭 - i don’t feel like it’s good or bad. I got it cause I assumed cerave was super stripped back ingredients- now im lost.
  3. any recommendations- PLEASE. For moisturiser.

NEXT. - cleanser

  1. I have combination skin and use cerave foaming normal - oily cleanser : leaves my skin feeling slightly tight and clean which I thought was good but apparently is not?!
  2. any recommendations? I’m starting to think cerave is lowk crap?

FURTHERMORE. - azeliac acid.

  1. does this acc do anything like wth… everyone raves about it I use the ordinary one and have done for so many months now and bruh imo it does legit nothing. Doesn’t break me out or anything but doesn’t do anything

LASTLY- 2x cleanse debate and tret

  1. I’ve always cleansed twice but apparently ppl r saying it’s best to just double cleanse in the PM and just use water AM- is this true?
  2. JUST started tret. Ik tik tok says it’s a miracle gel- does this actually work. nothing has ever worked for me lmao, including salicylic acid my skin hates it. I am purging currently and don’t mind as long as this is actually going to improve my skin. so does it ACTUALLY work, especially for hormonal acne?

2.b) once ur skin hypothetically clears on tret, do you stop using it? Or is this something u remain on because ur acne comes back if u stop?

THANK YOU ALL FOR READING THIS FAR IF YOU HAVE AND PLEASE REPLY I TRUST REDDIT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE😂.

Thank you-

Vyvanse tolerance and LUTEAL PHASE. (With note on male vs female experience at uni)

Hey hey I know lots of people have differing opinions on this but

  1. medical opinion aside- does anyone feel like they built tolerance up to vyvanse in general- like it doesn’t work as well at all as the first say 6 months on it and it’s never been the same even taking breaks.

  2. anyone else experience that it genuinely does next to nothing during luteal phase so like half of your month ://// and even the booster does nothing

  3. if anyone knows about scientifically whether tolerance build up is real

  4. If tolerance build up is real… what do we do? just keep increasing dose…. What about if u get to top dose and then what do you do…🫩🫩🫩. 40 was perfect for me for a while and I thought everything was great and now🫩🫩🫩🫩.

PS-

I do not feel like it has NO effect regarding tolerance, just that it has much less effect.

I DO feel like it has ALMOST NO effect- during luteal phase.

when will women win?🫩 I’m a medical student who has to deal with her adhd half of the month and it’s taxxing. I don’t feel angry at men just do disclaim but it is genuinely heartbreaking for myself seeing men in med school also even with a disability like adhd if they’re on meds they don’t have to worry about half the month it not working. It feels like a form of inequality but on a body level. it’s sad to see and experience.

In my opinion in the future universities etc should have extra leniency for WOMEN with adhd as a separate bracket, as with many other conditions that effect differently. - I don’t think I have explained this well but does anyone understand my point? I wonder how one would even begin to advocate for that. lol maybe I should start a petition😂. And I also am only using adhd and university as one example as that’s my currrnt experience but I believe this covers a broad range of things im referring to.

Anyway- apologies this is all so jumbled but feel free to offer thoughts opinions (and prayers at this point😂)!

best wishes to all

Newcastle med school near miss

Hi,
If I got BBC and my med school offer was ABB from Newcastle and I have had my papers remarked and it’s gone up to BBB, do I count as a near miss applicant? They’re holding my space until 31st August incase I get ABB (I won’t) as I firmed them and am on partners. But if I get BBB as a remark does this count as near miss for 2026? Do they accept this for medicine this year etc?
Any advice or guidance would be great.
Thank you

(This is for my sibling’s situation)

I hate that I need vyvanse

I posted another post about my side effects. I hate that I do need vyvanse. I’m a med student and can’t do my med student life without it but even in summer break I need it. I came off it for a few weeks on holiday and I thought im lowk fine but soooo tired and fine only coz I didn’t need to do anything. Today I took it and feel so so much better without even needing to do anything. But I hate that I need it. Ik I can’t resent the fact I have adhd but I do have it. I wish I had this vyvanse brain without vyvanse because it gives me fuckass side effects. im just so tired of this. I would ideally not be medicated and have this brain but I guess everyone would. Idk the point of this post really but just a rant lol. Anyone feel similar?

EDIT- I only got diagnosed a year ago and have been in the trenches in med school for 3 years up till then. so I guess got to be grateful to my vyvanse for helping enormously now..

negative effects from vyvanse

hi- I’ve been on vyvanse 40mg and 10mg booster of instant release for about a year now on meds. Got some issues I’d love some advice on/ if anyone’s experienced anything similar!

- ‘good’ feeling lasts about 5/6 hours yet sleep issues ALL night. Even if I take it early I’m not sleeping till 3/4.
- to add to that, therefore I eventually get so exhausted and am just pumping stims that I need to take a couple days off to catch up on sleep where I just feel awful and am bed bound all day which just ain’t it. Comedown days I guess. Feel like I’m abusing my body.
- stomach issues. Because of difficulty eating on it I get severe gastritis at night.
- IBS. The trots every morning and on comedown days awful constipation and binge eating that causes stomach pain.
- nicotine addiction. I beat my nic addiction before starting vyvanse. When on it I crave Nic so badly and when on comedown days it repulses me and makes me feel sick like I’ve never touched it.

basically I feel like I’m putting my body into whiplash and it is not ok or sustainable. brain wise- I need my adhd meds. lifestyle wise same. but the last couple months this has all been rly catching up with me body wise.

thanks! :)
