My 25 year love affair with the spicy chicken is officially over

A number 6 has been my order since I was a child.

My family is generally healthy due to finances (homemade being cheaper than takeout) but when we did go out, we went to Wendy's. I have so many memories for celebrating school year end or birthdays at Wendy's, which might sound crazy but it was an inexpensive, delicious, low pressure place to take a group of kids.

When I got a job, once in a while I'd call home, collect orders from my family and deliver it. I always got a number 6.

These days, I watch this sub and think everyone's so dramatic and Wendy's has always been good when I get it. I was even ok with the shredded lettuce (even though it sucks). Until last night. The new patty is horrible. The old one was recognizably chicken. This one was mostly weird breading and truly could have been any kind of meat. I'm so bummed. I even thought "damn the price has gone up" but really I'd have paid more to keep a decent quality sandwich with actual chicken and lettuce.

RIP the sandwich of my childhood.

I hate to be so dramatic but I hope Wendy's corporate looks at this sub and takes this feedback. Dominoes made a major turnaround in the early 2000's. I'm rooting for Wendy's for nostalgic reasons but this regular is boarding for departure.
