AMA a Wendys Worker

Haven't seen much chat about actually working at Wendys on the sub in a hot minute! Feel free to reply with fun work stories, or if you're interested in hearing my ramblings!

I get tossed between Cordinator (Bagging orders, scooping their fries, nuggets, and dropping them in the fryers), Drive Through, and Walk In customers, and I work Closing shift!

Feel free to ask about whatever from a Wendys Worker! <3

My Wendy's gave me a "hardhat frequency" discount card

I didn't know these existed. It's a permanent 20% off, or till the card disintegrates in my wallet.

Fellow Wendy’s Employees: Do y’all have phone lockers?

Hi! Several months ago, my Wendy’s location and the others in its franchise have gotten phone lockers. When I saw this, I breathed a sigh of relief believing that we’d finally keep the whole crew locked into their work.

Unfortunately, we never actually used the phone locker and people were still on their phones. I’m often an order taker, and there have been points in time where I’d take the order, make the drinks, cash out the car, put meat down, make the sandwich, make the fries, and coordinate all of it— all because everyone (including managers) was on their phone in the back. I’d have to apologize to the customers for taking longer on their orders because the rest of the crew abandoned ship because TikTok was more appealing. I wish we’d use the lockers more often, or at least crack down on phone usage.

Does anyone else have phone lockers at work? Do they actually get use?

Bring back the Ghost Pepper Ranch Chicken Sandwich!

It was far and away the best thing you ever introduced and I still haven't forgiven you for taking it away from me.

Spicy Chicken Sandwich post.

Ive been vegetarian for a few weeks now. Just a health protocol... but then on DD i saw buy one get one soicy chicken sandwich from wendys.... I folded. It was late night and i couldnt pass it up.

When I recieved it I saw they out it in a clamshell now, so I was like okay wendy.

I open it.

A crispy chicken sandwich??? Huh?

Was this discounted because the 2 for 1 deal?

Why is it on a premium bun and clamshell, but this value patty?

Where is the fat peppered orange chicken Ive known for a decade?

Then I find this sub.

I was gagged.

Im still confused.

Please tell me this is what broke wendys do and its not across the board.

Please.

I expect very little from Pheonix. Its one of the worst and dumbest cities ive ever lived in.

Please tell me this is a reflection of them and they didnt discontinue THE spicy chicken sandwich..

😓

Somebody who's good at math, I need to know the odds of this happening.

So my son like Wendy's. He also likes Sonic. Combine these 2 things and we've gotten a lot of Wendy's recently because of the Sonic Kids Meal toys. 7 times since it's started to be precise.

If you don't already know, there are 7 different Sonic characters that you can get in the kids meal. The first 3 or 4 times we went, we noticed that he got lucky and didn't get any duplicates. Then the fifth time, we were even more surprised when he again got a character that he didnt have yet. Then the sixth time happened, same outcome. Then tonight, somehow, he got the final remaining character that he didnt have.

Now I know that a lot of you are probably going "who cares", but I feel like the odds of this happening are extremely low. We never requested a specific character and this was spread at random times over the past month or so. What are the odds of getting all 7 characters exactly once with no duplicates? Can anybody give me a percentage chance?

Still mourning the loss of my chicken sandwich 😞

I haven’t eaten Wendy’s since they got rid of ghost pepper and then try it again and got this sad excuse of a chicken sandwich

This made sense when it was still wrapped in foil...

Now it's in cheap brown wrapping. Don't get me started about leaf lettuce.

Raw Chicken

Our local Wendy's(#2142) on Maxtown Rd in Westerville OH, just served us raw chicken tenders. My wife already ate a bite and swallowed before she fully noticed. We cut them all open and they were all uncooked. I'm not sure if these are prepped in store or if they are supposed to be cooked prior to arrival, but this is obviously not safe and they should not be served. The customer service line is closed and the store isn't answering. What do we do?

Would you be happy with this mistake?

I was expecting 20 piece nuggets at a discount but got a baconator and a chicken sandwich at a discount instead. Would you be happy with this mistake? If I didn't have a burger yesterday already then I would've happily accepted it. But I'm unsure atm about how I feel. But still ate it of course a long with the chicken sandwich. Lol.

Sucks for the door dash order. I hope they caught the mistake and gave him his correct order or maybe he'll happily accept 20 piece nuggets? Lol.

Wondering why your food quality has gone down?

Meat is only good for 2 minutes after it’s done cooking and after it’s supposed to be chili meat.

They just cooked tons of each meat and truth be told it’s not their fault. We have nobody on the shift even before the usual callouts. One person in drive through and front is just not enough for Friday dinner rush.

Is this mold in my tea??

I got this sweet tea for lunch and thought it tasted a little sour but thought maybe it was the brand. Then I looked over at my cup and noticed the cup was full of these particles that look like mold. It’s definitely not tea leaves. In the picture you can only see it towards the bottom but it is throughout the whole drink it was hard to pick up on camera. Thanks!

Pretzel Pub Bacon Cheeseburger Pretzel Pub Bacon Cheeseburger Pretzel Pub Bacon Cheeseburger

OK, I get it! I've been watching tv for the last 30 minutes and the ad has played during Every. Single. Commercial. Break. It's already turned me off from trying it.

Edit: make that 2x per commercial break. 🤬

Questions about hiring process

I'm in my 20s looking for my first "formal" job, as the only work I've done is for my mother's yard work business. I applied on Thursday, got a call asking if I would be interested in an interview on Friday, and then I went in for my interview on Saturday. I thought the interview went all right, but I was told at the end, "All right, I'll forward this to the GM. Thanks for coming in." It's now currently Monday night. So my question is, how long should I expect to hear back, if at all, on whether or not I got the job?

Double Baconator

I got the double baconator large fries and large drink. Wife got the double large drink and fries. Was $28 total.

But wow.. prob the best Wendys ive had in YEARS. Fries were hot and crispy, burger was thick with a lot of bacon. Wifes double was same, fresh veggies on hers and fries hot amd crispy.

There used to be one by my house that sucked, but they closed. We are cleaning out my aunt who passed house amd stopped at this one that is midway between her house and mine.

I'll def come back to this one.
