Went to the doctor for chronic fissures (going on for ~6 months) a couple weeks ago, and she told me to take MiraLAX. I have and it's been helping a lot. No more pain + blood, but I forgot to ask how long to stay on MiraLAX for... I feel like if I get off of it the fissures will just come right back as soon as I pass a hard stool. Any insight or experience with this would be greatly appreciated!!

I just wanted to thank you all/this community for destigmatizing fissures... after 4-5 months of pain & bleeding after BMs, I'm going into the doctor's this afternoon. To anyone else who's struggling/embarrassed, this is your sign! Hopefully I can get answers and start healing :)
