Approaching Surgeons

I’m a new med device rep, and this has happened a few times. I’ll make eye contact with a surgeon before a case, and instead of walking over or scrubbing in at the nearby sink, they’ll take a different route and enter through the core. I’ve never met these surgeons before, so I have no idea if it has anything to do with me or if I’m overthinking it.
I have a tendency to take it personally and assume they’re trying to avoid me. Maybe they are. Has anyone else dealt with this? How do you stop reading into every interaction and just let it go?

Players Leaving

Bro I put block offers and Liverpool and Arsenal keep stealing my players. I have zero control and Barnet has such a small market cap that regaining an 83 overall player is so hard. Any advice on how to upgrade my team? I’m in my fourth season with them and all my players are like 79 overalls.

Being a better rep

I’ll probably catch some flak for asking this, but I’m genuinely looking for advice. I’m about six months into med device sales and came from a business background with essentially no biology or clinical training. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the OR, learning procedures, studying anatomy, and trying to ask better questions, but I still feel like I struggle to speak the language of medicine.
My biggest concern is losing credibility with surgeons. Sometimes I feel like I either ask basic questions that make me sound uninformed, or I hesitate to ask questions at all because I’m worried about sounding like a dumbass.
For those of you who started without a clinical background, how did you get comfortable having meaningful conversations with surgeons? How did you learn to ask better questions and become more fluent in the language of surgery?
Is this something that mostly comes with time and repetition, or were there specific things you did that accelerated the process?
I’d love to hear any advice or experiences.

Burn out

Im half a year in and I’m getting burnt out. I didn’t know joining the role I did that my territory was going to be so large. I drive about five hours total everyday and still have to have energy to “sell” and be a rep in the OR. It’s killing me and I want to know what advice anyone has to get through it?

Dinners/Presentations

I just got into this industry and i absolutely hate these corporate sponsored dinners and having to do all of these presentations in front of rooms of people. I pictured this job to be in the OR working side by side with doctors, nurses, circulators and staff and building relationships. It’s like all of my non natural skills of socializing at dinners or doing large presentations in front of people is what im doing. Any advice on if this gets easier or if i will find my joy in this industry?

How do you get over the nervousness of talking to surgeons or creating conversations during surgery. I’m new, fresh out of college and I’m trying to build credibility and relationships with surgeons. They look at me as a baby though.
