Update: I'm gonna work in a clinical lab!
I posted here a little while ago lamenting that a year after earning my bachelor's in chemistry and failing to get into grad school I still hadn't landed a job in a lab. Well, fate is a funny thing, because in the last 48 hours I've gotten 2 job offers, and one in particular has great pay and a schedule ideal for me. I'll be in a clinical oncology lab testing for colon cancer. I'm so excited to finally be making inroads into the field. Guess it's a sign to never give up. Wishing good mojo for anyone else out there who's been in the same situation!

All I want is to be one of you
I graduated last year with a bachelor’s in chemistry, did about a year of undergrad biochem research during my degree. I applied to some toxicology masters programs as a senior and got rejected from all. It’s been over a year and despite a good amount of interviews I just can’t land a job in a lab or even vaguely related to my degree. I know the job market is terrible right now but its hard not to feel like I’ve messed up somehow, or that I’ll never have the chops to be a real scientist. I’m sort of at a loss for what to do. I’d love to research anticholinergics but I feel like my only shot at getting into a graduate program would be with some industry experience, I don’t have 3 strong letters of recommendation purely from school, but since I can’t get any industry experience I’m just stuck.
Was Arthur and Johns meeting pure coincidence?
I feel like I’m probably forgetting something but I don’t want to retread multiple hours of podcast. Is it just pure coincidence that one of the people in Roland cummings office, to which john’s book was sent, just so happened to be the person selected by Lilith to be bait for Kayne? Does arthur only survive absorbing john because of the protection of the lighter? Even then, I would think the manager just enchanted the lighter after realizing that Arthur would receive the book. Is there a detail I missed, because this would be a bit too much for my suspension of disbelief.
