Sunrise at Marys Peak

I got a great job offer and accepted it a few years back, but it was in Washington and I knew I was going to miss Corvallis and Oregon a lot. On the day before I moved, I drove to Marys Peak early in the morning and took these pictures. It was my favorite place nearby. It was in September.

I've since moved back to Corvallis, yay, I really missed it. I still love looking at these pictures once in a while, and going to the peak, of course. Marys Peak gave me some of the best views that day.

Edit: The 3rd image shows the shadow of Marys Peak itself. The shadow is westward.

"Cowboy beans". Do you have a favorite recipe?

An earlier post about pinto beans made me want to ask this.

I had some really great pinto beans and I could kind of tell what the ingredients were. I did a search online, and it looks like they were a "cowboy beans" kind of recipe. I tried to make them myself, but didn't quite nail it.

Do you have a good "cowboy beans" recipe? I would like to know how you make them.

McMenamin's in Mac

I went there with my wife around 2021. It was good 👍

Reading reviews on Yelp, it really got bad. I didn't want to go there at all. How much truth was there to the bad reviews (really bad service) and how is it now?

By the way, I don't live in Mac now, but I did a while back. It's about an hour drive from here in Corvallis.

Also I love Birdie's Pizza saying they will open a store in Corvallis. Meanwhile, Cirello's is my favorite in town. And I did not hear any loud booms or smell weird smells tonight.
