Any advice on handling customers that are upset about delays?

We're in the middle of a shortage on high demand parts. I've got 2 customers waiting on repairs for 2 weeks now and I have no clue when parts are going to arrive. Not even the warehouse knows when they'll be released to the US. The analyzers are still operational, but they've got to do system restarts every day just to bypass error messages. They keep emailing me asking when the repair can start and I wish I could give them an actual answer. How do you handle situations like this?

Anyone work on chairlifts or snowmakers?

I'm an FSE for ion detection instruments, but the stress has been eating away at me. I cover 7 states and we're short staffed. Ive taken a couple of vacations but i dont feel like they're helping me manage my stress, and getting out seems like the best option now. I love repairing equipment and I'm dying to move back to the mountains, and naturally being a chairlift tech came on my radar.

On the outside, it looks like much lower stress depending on if I'm working for an OEM or a family of resorts. Is it easier to do long term?

How does credentialing work for short notice repairs?

I just got dispatched for an emergency repair starting at 8am tomorrow. Green security just told me to pay for emerald processing and they'll process it based on the order received in their queue, but they wouldnt tell me if they do this 24/7. Do they actually approve credentials on the weekends? The facility im going to is strict about credentialing status and I dont want this to delay my work.

This is the only healthcare facility that uses our instrument, im usually in government or university labs that all have their own screening processes and this is all new to me.
