America's 250 Passport to the Revolution. Arkansas Post

Since we’re collecting passport stamps for America’s 250th, we figured we’d start with the one furthest from home — Arkansas Post National Memorial.

To be honest, we had no idea Arkansas played a role in the American Revolutionary War, so this stop turned into a really interesting history lesson. Turns out the skirmish that took place here was technically the last fighting of the American revolution. We practically had the whole park to ourselves, which made the experience even better.

Ranger David was fantastic and took the time to explain the entire history of the site and how control of the area changed hands from France to Spain to England and then United States. He even showed us flags and took photos with us to help tell the story through the different eras.

Definitely a unique and underrated stop for anyone collecting passport stamps or interested in early American history.

The park is located in really beatiful surroundings on the Arkansas River.
