Rabbit skin is red and inflamed. He has been molting heavily. I helped pick some of the hair because he was shedding so bad I believe he scratched at the exposed skin and now it looks red and inflamed and partially scabbed. It also feels somewhat warm. The rest of the skin on his body is normal. I put A&D ointment on his skin because I wanted to help his inflammation, I realize that might now have been the best idea. He is acting normal and eating

My rabbit it currently molting. He now has bald spots on the top of his head and cheek from the fur falling out. You can also see where new fur is growing back in. Is this normal? He is otherwise acting completely normal, eating, drinking and playing. His skin underneath is healthy pink with no irritation. He even enjoys when I help him get the falling hair out. He will start teeth grinding and get the zoomies, he sits closer in front of me so I can do it.
