2020 Volvo V60 fog lights, lower grill, glove box

2020 Volvo V60 fog lights, lower grill, glove box

Can anyone provide info on DIY installation of lighting behind the lower-grill of a 2020 V60 or similar? Specifically, are there any videos about how to access the area behind the lower grill (ie, the space directly in front of the intercooler)?

Unlike the car in the above image, I'd like to mount a pair of small round PIAA 12-Watt LEDs on the exterior (front) of the lower grill, but obviously wiring and bracket installation will be much easier by accessing the space behind it.

Although I do know how to remove the entire front bumper/bonnet, I'd like to avoid doing that. I'm really hoping that there is a way to get in there by somehow popping the lower grill out or possibly accessing the space behind it from beneath (ie, perhaps by detaching part of the engine splashguard...?).

Also seeking input on how to access the area behind the glove box without destroying it.

Any input is welcome. 🙏

Roof re-silvering: DC Rowhouse

Anyone know what a fair price would be to have the roof of a standard DC row-house re-silvered? I have the silvering tar & broom. Flat roof is prepped. Just wondering what it would cost to have someone mix & spread the new layer for me.

Raw powered cement as fill/dessicant

I've twice has success using raw powdered dry cement as a desiccant, but I keep seeing posts discouraging the practice.

Context: Dried paint kept bubbling off an interior basement foundation wall because of chronic humidity/dampness. The interior wall was plaster slathered over concrete.

Outside, directly opposite the affected area, I dug some of the soil away from the wall. This was super easy because some rainwater and a hose bib had leaked down along wall, leaving the soil and ground fill pretty porous. After exposing a portion if the exterior wall, i filled it with some leftover bags of raw powdered surface-bonding concrete mix and some Portland cement. Seemed to resolve the issue 110%.

Is there a reason why various google search returns keep advising against the process? (I also had moisture inside an interior bathroom wall that is drywall screwed to a frame of 2x4s sitting atop an ancient breathable brick foundation wall. The moisture was wicking up into the wall and creating mold. Poured raw powdered concrete down in there. Sealed the wall. 5 years out, it still appears to have worked perfectly.)

R/solarDC -- Neighborhood Solar Co-Ops or LLC's to buy solar panels in DC?

Have any residents in DC joined with neighbors to form an LLC in order to secure tax breaks that have long since expired for private homeowners who wish to buy solar panels?

I see co-ops are also an option (( https://solarunitedneighbors.org/locations/dc/ )), but I'm wondering if any have formed an LLC that would allow bulk-rate purchases, tax incentives, and (possibly...?) increased SRECS resulting from increased output? Any info is welcome & thanks!
